Inline De-DuplicationARCserve does inline de duplication of data within multiple backups of the same volume or SQL database or Exchange storage group etc.
Inline de dupe will happen within different backup images of the same volume of the same machine. Thus different backups of X:\ drive of P1 machine will do inline de dupe.

Post Process Global De Duplication
ARCserve recognize that there could be decent redundancies in C:\ of different machines.
Hence after the inline de duplication backup is done, ARCserve launches a post backup global de duplication process. This will do de duplication across C:\ drive of all different machines (like P1, P2, P3) and find redundancies.
