Understanding Theme BuilderPeopleSoft Theme Builder:

An Interaction Hub Feature

– Three step guided process

– Delivered in Image 2 (If you take the individual feature through Selective Adoption (Bug #21607541)

• Enables users to update most common and essential branding parameters in Basic mode.

– Company logo

– Banner color

– Homepage background

• Provides additional functionality

– Advanced Settings enables users to update additional branding parameters such as left panel color scheme and so on.

– Approvals can be turned on and used in Production for updating background image in the theme using the Basic mode.

– Theme changes can be migrated to content systems or from development to test to production instances using ADS (Application Data Sets) data migration projects.

How Do I Access Theme Builder?

• For accessing Theme Builder the user must be assigned one of two Roles:

– Theme Builder Admin

– Theme Builder User

• Theme Builder can be accessed using…

– Theme Builder Tile: Must be added using the Personalize option on Homepage (Tile found in the Hub Administrator folder)

– Theme Builder Folder: Available in the Navbar - Portal Administration folder

– The Theme Builder Folder contains 3 links:

– Theme Builder: This link takes you to the 3 step guided process for updating basic Theme parameters.

– Theme Builder Advanced Settings: This link enables users to update advanced branding elements like side pane color scheme, Activity Guide color scheme, etc.

– Theme Builder Installation: This link helps you turn ON approvals and assign Approver role

Theme Builder – Steps for Updating an Existing Theme

Note. If Approvals is turned ON and the current user does not have Admin access, then the request will be sent to the approver. Changes will be published after the Admin approves the change.

Navigate to Theme Builder

Click Edit link of the Theme that you want to update

Update parameters in the Define Theme step

Update user attributes on Assign

Theme step (if needed)

Publish changes

What is a Theme Macro Set?

• A PeopleSoft Theme Macro Set is...

– A Feature Delivered in PeopleTools 8.55

– Designed to ease Styling for Fluid Applications

(Note: Some of the Fluid styles will apply to the Fluid header that contains classic page content.)

• Macro set is a set of macros that are used by the style sheets in the theme to determine the distinctive appearance of your theme. Administrators specify macro sets for themes.

• Macros are like parameters, which can be used in style sheets, and their values can be configured using theme macro sets.

Understanding Theme Macro Sets The Process of Updating Theme Using Macro Sets

Analyze

• Analyze delivered list of macros and identify the ones that you want to modify based on your organizations branding requirements.

Update

• Clone existing Theme Macro set: PT_DEFAULT_MACROSET_855.

• Update Macro Content of the desired Macro names.

Assign

• Assign the Macro Set to the Theme.

• Ensure that the Classic and Fluid Style sheets assigned to the theme use macros.

• Ensure that the classic header assigned to the theme is: DEFAULT_HEADER_FLUID.

• Ensure that the Theme is assigned to the appropriate User Attributes.

Test • Test and migrate changes to the content systems.

Understanding Theme Macro Sets - Components Assemble Theme

This component is used to assign the Macro Set ID to a Theme. While assigning the Theme Macro Set, appropriate Classic Header and template style sheets should be assigned to the Theme.

• Oracle delivers a default PeopleTools Macro Set and we recommend that customers clone that existing Macro Set and then apply your branding to the cloned Macro Set.

• Default Macro Set is: PT_DEFAULT_MACROSET_855

– Brands the Fluid header and homepage as well as the Fluid header that contains Classic content

–Works with the following theme header and style sheets:• Classic Header: DEFAULT_HEADER_FLUID

• Classic Theme CSS: PT_BRAND_CLASSIC_TEMPLTE_FLUID

• Fluid Global Override CSS: PT_BRAND_FLUID_TEMPLATE or PT_BRAND_FLUID_NOIMG_TEMPLATE
