Whether required or elective, all necessary course curricula are set forth in this Course Catalog and all
course materials necessary for your study degree program are included in the THBI Student Tuition! You
never have to pay extra for any text books or course study materials that are required to complete any course
or course module necessary to complete the degree studies for which you are enrolled.
While courses may have some variation - - some text books are published by THBI, others are published
by various publishing ministries while others yet are digital (found in the Digital Bible Library). The THBI
study plans all follow a similar format:
➢ Each course will have a study text - - either textbook or digital;
➢ Each course requires the completion of a study guide;
➢ Each course (or course unit) concludes with a course exam which must be submitted for grading.
o Again, each course exam must receive a minimum score of 70% for a passing grade.
All textbooks and study guides are the students to keep, building their own study reference library for future
use in their own ministry works. With the successful completion of each course, the student is invited to
use the study materials in developing their own teaching and preaching materials subject to the terms of use
of each publisher’s copyrighted material.
Each student will have built their own Bible Reference Study Library of several hundred items from
the various resources provided during his/her program of studies!
The THBI COURSE CATALOG is divided into two sections: Basic Courses and Graduate Courses.
1. Basic Courses are those necessary for completing Bachelor Degree Programs
2. Graduate Courses are necessary for completing the Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree programs.
While all degree levels can utilize the “Basic” courses generally, the courses in the Graduate
categories are only for those students enrolled in a Masters or Doctoral degree programs.
The curriculum selections offered in this Course Catalog are either: Individual Courses or, Course
Module composed of multiple course units.
➢ Individual Courses are just that, individual courses that are taken individually at the assigned credit value
for that course.
➢ Course Modules are made up of two or more course units that are grouped together in order to achieve a
predetermined goal of study with an assigned credit value for that Course Module.
o Course Modules may not be broken down into individual courses.
o Every course in a Course Module must be completed in order to receive the assigned credit value for
that course unit.
o Course Modules partially completed are not given partial credit - - the entire course module must be
completed to receive credit for the studies included in that module.
Any questions about course selections should be directed to the offices of THBI.
Note: The curriculum of T.H.B.I. may be revised without prior notice but such revisions will not
negatively affect any credits already earned by a student.
6
Any and all revisions are intended to expand the learning base available to the student.
In the event that a modification impacts the study program in which a student is already enrolled,
said modification will not affect the tuition or graduation requirements of that student in any
adverse manner, but may afford the student an opportunity to gain the benefits of that modification
without additional costs.
IMPORTANT: COURSE AVAILABILITY
The True Hope Bible Institute of True Hope Ministries of America works with various publishers
and under various licenses. Due to this, we cannot guarantee every course selection will be
available on a timely basis, or in some cases, a textbook may have been discontinued altogether
making the course selection unavailable until a suitable replacement can be located.
Therefore, while we strive to maintain updated information in this Course Catalog, neither THBI
or THMA can or does make any guarantee of availability of courses.
In the event that a course is unavailable, the student may be given the option to select another
course of equal or greater credit value or wait until the course becomes available again. In the
cases of “Required Courses” being substituted, the substitute course will be considered to meet
the Course Requirement for that particular Degree Study Program.
7
There are two types of courses in every degree program:
1. Required Courses – also called “mandatory” courses for earning a particular degree.
2. Elective Courses – courses you select to complete the needed course credits required for a particular
degree. Elective courses should be selected based on your ministry emphasis, ie
Pastoral, Evangelism, etc.
Mandatory Course Assignments:
The student has no options or alternatives but to take the courses listed as mandatory in his/her degree
program course description - - unless otherwise noted in the degree description.
• Mandatory/Required Courses are identified with an (*R) next to the Course ID and before the
Course Title & Description.
• Mandatory Courses (*R) are those courses that are required in one or more degree programs
and choosing an “*R” course as an elective may conflict with later degree studies.
Therefore, any course marked with “*R” must be approved by your Live Study Consultant or the
offices of THBI.
Courses for Electives:
Bachelor Degree Students: Elective selections are limited to the courses listed in the Basic Course
Selections.
Master Degree and Doctoral Degree students may select electives from any course listed in the Basic
or Graduate Course Selections regardless of being marked with “*R”.
Doctoral Degree students may select electives from any course listed in the Basic or Graduate Course
Selections regardless of being marked with “*R”.
Scheduling Elective Courses:
Students should first complete all mandatory/required courses for their degree programs before selecting
the elective courses they wish to study for meeting the balance of course credit requirements necessary
to obtain their degrees.
COURSE DIVISIONS:
The Course Catalog is divided into two main sections: Basic Courses and Advance Courses.
• Basic Courses are both Required and Elective Courses to complete Bachelor Degrees.
• Graduate Courses are those courses studied for both Master’s Degrees and Doctoral Degrees.

in this life.

BDT-5(*R) Bible Doctrines 20
This course is designed to present to the student the foundational doctrines
of Christianity.
This intensive course studies the doctrines from the standpoint of Biblical rather
than Dogmatic/Denominational theology. This is evident from the plan which is
followed in the work, namely: To gather together all the Scripture passages
dealing with the subject under consideration, and from them choose a required
number that may be called representative; then seek to understand the meaning
of these references by the study of the text itself in its context and parallel
passages; and finally, from the selected proof-texts, formulate the doctrinal
teaching, placing such results under appropriate headings.

BDT-1(*R) Full Gospel Fundamentals 15
While many “Fundamental Gospel” courses are the compilation of a
particular denominational or sectarian viewpoint that offers a favored slant
on the Gospel presentation and ministry, this course aims to avoid the
barriers of any denominational group and help the student develop a “complete
or whole Gospel” presentation and ministry.
This 3-part course, no denominational viewpoints are addressed only the spiritual
concerns of mankind from the singular perspective of Scripture - - thus this
course supports the viewpoint of any Biblical denominational point of view.

Ministry Leaders are NOT to be “aquarium keepers”! Jesus our Lord called us to
be “fishers of men”, “laborers in the harvest” and as ministry leaders that means that
WE ARE TO LEAD IN OUTREACH AND SOUL WINNING!
We cannot make disciples if we do not first win souls, and we cannot win souls if we
are not committed to doing so!

means that first we capture the vision, mission and methods of effectively bringing

Evangelism and Outreach are the means by which the Body of Christ, The Church of
the Lord Jesus Christ grows - - “adding such as should be saved”! While the Church
may coexist in a world of darkness, our role is to be Salt and Light in that world, making
people hungry and thirsty for righteousness and exposing the hidden things of darkness
that are keeping them in bondage to satan’s systematic dominion of sin and setting them
free for life everlasting!
