Once again, I write a newsletter that informs you of how we need to manage during this difficult time with COVID 19. I remind parents and carers that we understand that these are frustrating and challenging times and we ask that you do your best as we work through this together.

We, as a school, are not asking parents to teach your children, that is the job of your child’s teacher and if you have any concerns with this I ask that you contact your child’s teacher and they will support you and your child with their learning.

You can support your child with their learning by ensuring that they log onto DB Primary and the other educational platforms available to your children. We will be uploading assessments to these platforms and it is essential that your child engages in these assessments. This is to ensure that we can accurately report on your child’s educational achievements and set learning goals and work moving forward.

If you have any concerns about your child’s learning I strongly urge you to contact your child’s teacher via email in order to get the necessary support to ensure a positive educational experience.

Prep Enrolments 2021 I remind all parents that if they have friends who are looking to enrol their child in prep for next year to make contact with the school so we can support them in enrolling for next year. It is difficult as prospective parents cannot take a school tour due to the Pandemic. It is imperative that parents enrol for next year as soon as possible as we prepare and plan for our 2021 school year.

As always please take care and stay safe.

After undertaking remote learning during term 2, staff used

feedback and comments to modify and improve our remote

learning this term. Our simpler format and clear learning

packs have been successful and it is pleasing to receive lots

of positive feedback from our school community, including

this feedback from a happy parent who phoned the school

to express their gratitude;-

“Thank you to all the staff. You are all doing such a great job in these

tough times. I cannot believe the amount of work you have all put in to

make this home learning so smooth. The packs are easy to follow, the time

tables are clear and my child is having a great time knowing exactly what

is expected and what to do. We LOVE watching the daily videos too!”

M17 students are

doing a great job learning from home...

Year 5 and 6 students attempted to design the longest flying plane using an A4 piece of paper.

They then took part in heats and our over-all winner was Joshua with a plane that made it nearly the whole way across the basketball courts!!

Senior students then enjoyed watching the movie ‘Paper Planes’.

Prep students attending the on-site program worked on maths activities to help develop their number skills.

Our Prep and Junior students have demonstrated our

school values of RESILIENCE and DETERMINATION

again during this second stage of remote learning. It is

wonderful to see them try their best and happily share

some of the work they have completed at home.
