The UBC Human Resources Management Club (HRMC) aims to serve as a valuable platform for university students who are interested in pursuing human resources as a career path, as well as those who are simply interested in furthering their personal and professional development. The HRMC aims to constantly evolve with the dynamic human resource indus-try by providing year-round networking opportunities, educational speaker sessions and hands-on, interactive workshops with top business professionals at the forefront of the industry.

Human Resources Management plays a vital role in all organizations. Our events aim to educate students about the importance of human resources, not only in the workplace, but also in everyday life.

Resume Builder Launch PartyThis introduction to HR night gives students a taste of what the field is about. It features a resume and cover letter workshop, allowing students to fine tune and polish their applications so that they will stand out in the job market. There will also be upper year and alumni HR students speaking about their experiences going through the program and industry professionals to share about their working experience.
Roundtable Café (Industry Insight)With the Roundtable Cafe, both students and working HR professionals can interact with one another in close table conversations, allowing the professionals to develop connections and the students to uncover more about HR.
Recruitment PanelThe Recruitment Panel gives attendees insight on what a recruiter’s job truly entails by communicating their first-hand experiences within the field. Additionally, this event acts as a platform for professionals to share how they’ve reached the current stage of their career.
CHRP Info SessionProfessionals who have earned a CHRP designation will educate prospective HR specialists about the process of obtaining the certification. Consequently, this will allow the students to carefully plan their future directions within the HR field.
HR Case CompetitionThis HR focused case competition will give students an opportunity to apply the HR knowl-edge they have learned from class and work to solve a real world business problem. From this competition, we can identify the top HR students and give them a chance to be recognized in the HR community.
Mentorship Program (ongoing)HR students will be matched with varying HR professionals to form valuable relationships that will allow both Mentee and Mentor to develop themselves professionally and personally. Three supporting events will be held over the course of the year to check in with mentor/mentee relationships and facilitate networking opportunities for the whole group.
