“Dar Ke Aage Jeet” programme for women at Nagosali

On 10th March 2015 death Anniversary of late SavitribaiFule & World Women’s Day, “Dar Ke Aage Jeet” wasOrganized. Program started with traditionally lightingof the lamps followed by Various Icebreakers, motivational & National Integration videos.Many women have participated in the program. Prizeswere distributed in the program.

Thaylesemia Counseling at Goulane Village

MET-BKC SEVA and Nashik blood bank jointly conductedThaylesemia and blood testing camp for the children in Z.P.school Goulane. Four children were found affected bydisease. A counseling session was organized for parents forpatients care & precautions.

The villagers were educated and made aware of thedecease. Efforts were made to see that parents don’t haveany fear and misunderstanding of the diseases.

Thaylesemia and blood testing camp

Thaylesemia and blood testing camp wasorganized at Goulane village on 11th April 2015.More than 145 villagers were tested by NashikBlood Bank. Villagers got aware about minorand major Thaylesemia disease.

“Jeevan Project”- Provision of Water Pipeline in Nagosali village

Nagosali is a Tribal village in Igatpuri Block. Tibalfamilies in the village were facing water crises due tovillage politics. Other people banned on theirinvolvement in Grampanchayat.

MET-BKC intervened in major issue & took herculeantask of provision of Water facility to tribal peoples inNagosali. The work took place with peopleparticipation. Around 40-45 tribal families gotbenefitted from this project. There was greatsatisfaction and happiness on the faces of tribalfamilies.

Tree plantation programme at “Fashicha Dongar”, Nashik

On 5th June 2015 international environment daywas celebrated. On this occasion environmentgroup and forest department had jointlyorganized tree plantation programme.More than 100 staff members of MET-BKCparticipated in this programme on “FashichaDongar” and planted more than 350 Saplings.

Workshop for women Self Help Groups

MET- BKC SEVA had organized workshop for providingguidance to women SHGs on 11th August 2015.Following information was provide in the workshop-SHG Formation Process, Govt Schemes forSHGs, Benefit of SHG, Business opportunities for SHGsetc.

Information about loan cases and misunderstandingabout loan sanctioning were clarified. All processes inthe formation and execution of SHGs were elaboratelyexplained. Information about various schemes forwomen was also given.Women Empowerment

Tree plantation programme

“Swa-Arpan Programme” at Shenit Village Swa-Arpan Prgram was organized at Shenit village inIgatpuri Block. 170 students of ZP school were giveneducational material and sweets. Two water tanks of100Ltr capacity for drinking water storage were donatedto the ZP school.

Blood Donation Camp in BKC Campus

On 9th Oct. 2015 students of collage of Engineeringand Nashik Blood Bank organized a blood donationcamp. 110 bags of blood were donated on thisoccasion.

“Arpan” Programme at Nagosali villageOn 14th Oct.2015 Arpan programme was organized atNagosali village. On this occasion Waterpurifier, computer and sport material was distributedto ZP school students.

Blood Group Check up & Blood Donation camps werealso part of this event. Total 576 students werechecked with blood group. 200 blankets and bedsheet were distributed to needy people.

Health Check Up Camp at Nagosali

On 12th Oct.2015 Health Check Up Camp wasorganized at Nagosali village. Total 342 studentswere covered through health check up camp.

“Clean Village Project” at Kone Village

Kone village, one of the adopted villages of MET-BKC SEVAwas given “Nirmal Gram Purskar” in 2002. Kone is tribalvillage in Trimbak block having population of around 1400.The village had no proper toilet facility. People are used toopen defecation. This has caused for health issues amongthem. To improve the situation, MET BKC SEVA took lead inproviding 54 household & 6 school toilets as pilot project inthe village with the help of CEAT Company & constructedbeautiful toilet blocks in Kone Village. This has led toimprove their health. People are happy and regularly usingthe toilets.

Voice of villagers:- “ Our family members were going toopen defecation including women. It was shameful but wehad no choice. Now we are satisfied with the project &regularly using toilets.

Graveyard work at Nagosali village

MET-BKC SEVA took initiative and had given proposalto Grampanchayat for construction of new graveyard.With the help of Sarpanch and Gramsevak of NagosaliGrampanchayat, new Graveyard was constructedunder “Jansuvidha Yojana” by ZilhaParishad, Nashik.

NSS Camp at Nagosali village

Engineering and Pharmacy department jointly organized acamp at Nagosali village as a part of NSS activity of S.P. PuneUniversity. 100 students have participated in the camp.Various activities such as village cleaning, tree plantation &Blood Pressure Check up, Diabetis & Hemoglobin camp wereundertaken during the camp. Students took activeparticipation in cleaning Hanuman Tekadi area, VaitarnaNagar, Nagosali Grampanchayat area and Shidwadi. The roadcleaning activity was also undertaken by the student.

Swa-Arpan Programme at Kurungwadi village

Kurungwadi village is situated in remote area of Egatpuritaluka. Swa-Arapan programme was organized at this villagein ZP school. A fund raised by staff and students, byconducting various activities in the college campus, wasutilized for distributing school bags, educational material andsnacks to around 212 poor students of ZP school.

In this remote area these students were not having sufficientand proper clothes. Clothes collected by staff and studentswere distributed to the poor students of ZP school and tribalstudents at Kurungwadi.

Financial Assistance to women SHGs

MET-BKC SEVA has trained 30 women throughJewellery Making, Quilt Making, Bags Making. On theoccasion of MET UTSAV- 2016 institute opened its gatefor women & Set up a stall of materials made by themfor sale. Women were provided with good selfemployment opportunities, by this small initiative.

Repairs to ZP school at Nagosali

A ZP school with 60 tribal students studying from 1st to 4th

standard was observed under bad condition. MET-BKC tookup the issue of repair work of this school. MET-BKCcontinuously followed the matter with ZP and was successfulin getting proposal sanctioned, for repairs of school.

MET-BKC had already provided one computer and waterpurifier as necessary facility for the development of tribalstudents.
