iooiooWe are delighted to invite you to the first CSR in Islam event that will take place at Kadir Has University in Istanbul, Turkey on 17 November 2014.
CSR aims to maximize the creation of shared values between businesses, stakeholders of companies and the society at large. It has a unique role in local, national and international sustainable development. Businesses need to view CSR as an important value that should become an integral part of their corporate culture. CSR is a practical, systematic, holistic and competitive approach to creating a sustainable future. Thus, it is essential to create a strong CSR network among different countries and cultures where CSR practitioners can benefit from one another’s experiences.
We observe that there are many good CSR initiatives implemented by companies in many Muslim-majority countries. If those initiatives are shared between Muslim-majority countries and the wider region, more creative, sustainable and inclusive CSR practices could develop.
In this respect, the CSR in Islam event will bring together representatives from businesses, civil society organizations, academia, the public sector, media and other key stakeholders from the Middle East, North Africa, Central and East Asia, Europe and the United States to discuss the place of CSR in Muslim-majority countries, to share good CSR practices, experiences and ideas, and to create a CSR network among these countries.
