    Preface

    Internship is an integral part of BBA-IT program, because it gives us the practical

    knowledge of what we have learnt during our study period. This report is written to

    fulfill the requirement of BBA-IT degree.

    Trading keeps much importance in human life. This practice started when the human

    beings thought to live together in the formal way. Small groups of people came

    together and small colonies were established. This change in living style started

    exchange of the things. So when the first thing was exchanged the trade was come

    into being.

    Now a day the business environment keeps on changing everywhere. New

    dimensions of business are coming before us. These dramatic and dynamic changes

    in business world require the specialties about the all aspects of business of today.

    Because of these requirements, business knowledge become important and business

    education becomes the need of time. Only he person with latest knowledge can

    survive in this vast field.

    But practical knowledge is also necessary along with the theoretical knowledge. This

    made the internship an integral part of our BBA-IT. One can see how the theories

    and knowledge are being practically implemented. This report is about Coslab (Pvt)

    Ltd. I did my internship here for 6 weeks and this report carries the information

    about history, organizational structure, marketing strategies, SWOT, Financial and

    Pest analysis of Coslab (Pvt) Ltd.

    HistoryThe Company Started working In 1988 in Multan From a very small level near Rijwana

    road. Initially the company were making Talcum powder and perfume which were sold in

    the local market in multan without any advertising compaign.with the passage of time

    they start making cream and were expanding there business.

    In 1990 they shift their production to swat and remain their main office in multan near

    rajwana road. So there they started production and their sales increases by making wild

    flower which become popular very soon.

    So because of tax free production they were enjoying good profit at the time and were

    able to expand there business.

    The company was not even his own infrastructure (Building) in swat so in 1995 they

    were in the position to make their own building. At that time they were having the salesmanager who suggests them to invest this amount in advertising and so they agree and

    advertise their product with the brand name CARE COLD CREAM and make their

    distribution network better by hiring some new sales personnel in different area of the

    country. After the Advertising within 2-3 years the company earns a lot and they

    extended their product line.

    SO they make there own infrastructure in 2001 and some new equipment were also

    installed there in multan located at 11km from bosan road.

    In 2005 the company makes financing from bank and import different machinery of

    packaging plant from Japan and china which were not there in Pakistan before.

    The unit no 2 is about to manufacturing of fine quality plastic packaging which is the no

    1 quality only available in Pakistan with coslab (PVT) LTD.

    The ultimate objectives of our business strategy are to increase volume, expand our share

    of worldwide nonalcoholic ready-to-drink beverage sales, maximize our long-term cash

    flows andcreate economic-value-added by improving economic profit.

    Production Department

    After my selection through Reference for internship program in Coslab pvt Ltd Multan, I

    joined PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT which is led by Amjad IQBAL Senior Officer. I

    learnt more under their supervision which would be helpful for me in practical life. He

    was very cooperative and supportive to me.

    Under their supervision I learnt that Human resource is the key assets of organization

    How to utilize Human Resource and put right person at right Time on right place.

    How to get maximum from human resource to produce more and meet demand. And how

    to meet the demand of human resource to keep better production and get maximum

    output from them. And to avoid any disturbance in meeting demands.

    IN 2nd week in production Department my job is to keep check of quality and check

    organization stamp on packing of product. With this I have also assign a task to take feed

    back from employee about their job. Whether they are satisfied or facing any problem

    with work or in organization.

    In production department Quality control is done by integrating the following related

    techniques and activities:

    1. Specification of what are needed.2. Design of the product or service to meet the specifications.

    3. Inspection to determine conformance to the specification.

    4. Review of usage to provide information for the revision of specification if

    needed.

    5. Utilization of these activities provides the customer with the best product

    or service at lowest cost. The aim should be continuous quality

    improvement.

    Accounts Department

    For 3rd and 4th week of my internship program in Coslab Pvt Ltd, I was sent to

    Management Accounts department, which is lead by senior officer Zafer Iqbal, assistant

    manager Abdul shakor. All the people there were very kind and supportive to me.

    The most important activities which are performed in this department are preparing,

    maintaining, and recording the reports of different departments. The departments are

    following:

    Sales department.

    Shipping department.

    Production department.

    These reports are prepared on daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis.

    I learnt the preparation of following reports:

    1. Cosmetics issuance report

    2. Filled stock report

    3. Plant wise production report

    5. Raw material report

    6. Recycle scrap reports

    The organization do not have any information system like MIS or DSS but has just

    internal network computer system when ever they required any report in any meeting

    they can easily share with each other these report which help a lot in making time

    decision, correct any mistakes occurs and make new agreements .

    Learning these reports would help me in my practical life when inshaallah I will start my

    own business these reports will really help me a lot to maintain my business in a better

    way.

    Marketing Department

    I spent my last 5th and 6th week in marketing department combine

    With Management accounts department there is no separate body of marketing

    department in organization. During these two weeks I learn about

    Marketing and concepts we study during course are applied almost all in organization. I

    spend my time with marketing experts including distribution, import and export manager

    and advertisement manager. I observe these people and gain a lot from these people.

    A. DISRTIBUTION

    Now a days business is extended to a great extent. Markets are widening briskly, so

    there is a great need to meet the requirements of this large market

    successfully. There should be such a system of distribution that the supply of products to

    the markets should be according to the needs.

    Supply of product is monitored in such a way that there are minimum chances of shortage

    in supply.Company has a centralized distribution system in which the products are

    distributed from one warehouse to the selected distributor of the company, and then the

    distributor make the product available to the wholesalers and at the end the product is

    transformed to the retailers to be purchased by the final customer.

    The company had direct relations only with the distributors for making the

    product available to the target market.

    Sometimes when the company introduces the same product line in different

    innovation style then it uses the following channel of distribution. The company has

    specifically directed its distributors to provide that innovative products to retailers

    skipping out the wholesalers in the channel. The basic reason for doing this was to

    eliminate the wholesaler commission so that the price can be placed at relatively lower

    level.

    They exports product direct from company these product are made with very care and in

    special packing. They export their product to Africa, Dubai, Bangladesh and recently to

    Afghanistan.

    B. ORDER HANDLING

    I have also learned order handling in last week .The order is generated by warehouse

    manager Mr.AZHAR or by direct customer request .a particular order document is used

    by the company and accordingly they fulfill order of customer .Order handling is not a

    difficult task but need attention at every point because mistake will create a huge

    problems and loss to company.

    C. ADVERTISEMENT

    Most of marketing of coslab is through print media. In news paper their ads in Jung and

    express news paper. Here I know how much cost is bear in electronic media while

    varying with time and channel.

    PEST AnalysisPest Analysis is basically an environmental analysis which covers these four dimensions

    of environment

    Political

    As far as political environment is concerned company is very worried about it. Pakistan isnot a political stable country. Even after the18 February election political environment is

    still not friendly for business. Coslab Company cannot heavily invest due to this factor.

    Economical

    As far as the economic conditions are concerned they are also not favorable the

    purchasing power of people is decreasing due to high inflation and there is a threat that

    this condition may directly hit the sales of the company.

    Social

    Due to its American origin people in Pakistan have a little bit cultural clash

    with the coslab company specially after Iran and Iraq war but the participation of

    company in social responsibilities is appreciating which have build a good

    reputation in the market.

    Technological

    Market of Pakistan is passing through a technological revolution

    which provides opportunity to all the industries to modify their process. For

    example if the Coslab Company would start selling its cosmetics online

    it would be a healthy change for the company and the market.

    Learning as internee

    It was a tremendous experience that I have availed with devotion and

    commitment. I have an interest in cosmetic industry. One thing I want to share its

    not easy that looks it has a great toughness and complications in its process but

    the overall it was nice and great. Here I am sharing some of my learning regarding

    my internship in different departments.

    I discussed about the marketing practices going on in the international cosmetic

    market. I.e. to target your customer after knowing needs with product solution of

    the customer need.

    I learnt that every problem is solved with a systematic process like from the root

    of the problem.

    I learnt about the marketing procedure and required of the documents and dealing

    with customers.

    During my internship I learnt about the value that customer is the only who come

    first. The fulfillment of the demand of customer is our basic motive.

    IF I WOULD BE A MANAGER IN COSLAB

    (PVT) LIMITED.

    I would try to work on these points first

    1. Only such people would be appointed as are required by the job.

    2. Different training courses should be arranged for the up lifting and improving the

    quality of work for employees

    3. Employees on Temporary bases would be given more encouragement and try tocreate conditions in which they feel more security.

    4. At present facility of bonus is given only to production staff but such incentives

    should also be given to Head office Staff.

    5. Medical facilities are given in mill but such facilities should also be given to

    management.

    6. There is also a problem of work overload for the employees and it should be

    control properly so that the employees are motivated.

    7. Employees should be paid extra for the work which they done after working

    hours.

    8. The process of purchase would be made short and simple. This will save time.

    9. Routine working of the staff would be strongly observed and negligence not be

    made in this regard.

    ConclusionCoslab (Pvt). Limited is one of the leading groups in Pakistan. The system, the

    management style, the policies & centralized decision making environment is really

    remarkable.

    The overall analysis is indicating that the companys progress has mainly attained

    through dedication of employees. The effectiveness of its management, their

    willingness to take advantage of opportunities and face challenges of changing

    economic picture, this all contributes to the very much improved and sound position

    of company. This is really appreciable for the devotion and hard work of all the

    employees of the company
