In my short film I will use the mise-en-scene of costumes/outfits to portray the realism of my film. This will be done by what the actresses

wear throughout the film, as they will be seen to wear casual everyday clothes. This is to

represent how the girls will be conveyed as stereotypical teenagers who wear clothes that female teenagers of this generation and age

group wear. The main character Willow and the secondary character Jasmine are best friends

and have similar likes and interests. This means that their costumes will be similar, and what they will do within the film means they will

wear similar casual clothes. Additionally as the characters are meant to be the same age as myself, I have decided the characters would wear clothing which are

things that I would wear. This would show realism effectively and naturalism as the characters wear teenage girl clothes.

The main character Willow will wear everyday casual clothes to show when she isn't in school

to the audience without having to explain it. Then when she is in school which I will show

briefly, she will wear smart clothes such as trousers, boots and jumpers. The casual clothes Willow will wear will be trainers

such as New Balance and Converse, Jumpers and long

sleeved tops, jeans and leggings and a coat/jacket to show the season the film will

be filmed and set in. This will be because the weather will be made to seem cold enough to

wear a coat/jacket. In terms of makeup throughout Willow will wear minimal to no make up to show

her grief maybe and amount of effort she has towards her appearance after Jasmine has gone.

The character Jasmine will wear a costumes of something like New Balance trainers, a turtle neck long sleeved tops, jeans and a coat/jacket. The coat or jacket would signify the time of year the film is set in for being summer/ spring. Therefore the weather would still be cold and would mean the characters need to wear a coat or jacket. This costume would be for the flashback part of the film where Jasmine is featured, as she is seen to be casually dressed as she is going to walk up the woods with Willow. Then for the ghost sighting of Willow she will wear something white, long and flowy

to represent her as a ghost. She may wear a long white dress which has lots of material, but shows her arms and legs, while having no shoes on. In terms of her make up she will being looking pale but with pink/red coloured lips, and mascara to show she is a ghost due to how pale she is, but

still looks herself and pretty.
