COSTUMES AND PROPS

GUITAR One of our main props

throughout our music video is a guitar. The reason for this is because through researching into different pop/punk music videos, we found that the mass majority of videos included a guitar as one of the main props. Moreover when we did our survey, we asked what props people relate most with pop/punk genre and the most common prop was a guitar. Therefore we thought including a guitar in our video would be really beneficial as not only is it a popular prop in the pop/punk genre, it also attracts our target audience . We also think the use of a guitar will make our video look a lot more edgy and cool.

Microphone Another prop that we thought would be

good to include in our music video is a microphone. This is because quite a lot of our music video is based around the group of girls performing together in a garage, therefore the use of a microphone would make it look more realistic and professional. Moreover a microphone is usually a prop that is expected in typical music videos, and we wanted to emphasise on the classic, stereotypical punk gig/concert theme.

DRUM KIT

We will also be using a drum kit as a prop in our music video, due to wanting to emphasise the class punk/rock theme. As well as wanting each performer to have their own musical instrument ,in order to make the video look effective and bring out their individual character in the music video. Moreover most pop/punk music videos tend to have some kind of drum kit being played throughout the video, therefore to make our video look more realistic and link to the pop/punk genre we thought including a drum kit as one of our props would be a good idea and work well.eally well.

THE BAND Band Member 1

We have chosen to dress our first band member pretty simple, however still include punk elements, such as the choker and black doc martins. The reason for this is because we are wanting to show each individuals personality and style as well as still relating to the pop/punk genre.

For our second band member, we have decided to dress them slightly more gothic, to show off their gothic personality. However we have still included punk features in order to relate back to the pop/punk genre. We have chosen to dress the band member in mainly the colour black, due to the fact that black looks more edgy and gothic.

For out third band member, we have decided to dress them with the complete punk look. We have decided this, because band member 3 is going to be the main singer, therefore needs to stand out the most. Moreover, due to our genre being pop/punk we thought it would be good to link our main singers style to the genre in order to make it look effective.
