Dip Or Bounce? At the end of April the economists were reporting doom and gloom in the economy, yet we were seeing a very different pattern appearing in the housing market. Nationally, there are regions of the country now seeing price stability or growth and within the North East, I am pleased to report a noticeable lift in activity levels, offers and sales. Year on year, our sales pipeline is up 44% as at the beginning of May and the outlook is as bright as it has been for a long time. We have seem a similar pattern in previous housing recessions, where ultimately the buyers return of their own volition when it becomes apparent that we are through the worst. Price stability and low interest rates are clearly attracting buyers who, quite rightly, have identified 2012 as a good point in the market to secure their next purchase. This renewed activity is being matched by an increase in new properties being offered for sale, creating a good level of choice and as many properties coming to the market now are competitively priced, all the ingredients for a resurgent market are arriving together in time for the Spring and Summer months.
