Fall Book Fair Mark your calendar! Our Scholastic “Bookaneer” Fall Book Fair will run Monday, October 17th - Friday, October 21st. Don’t want to wait and take a chance your book may be sold out? Order online beginning October 5th by going to http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/countrytrailspto. The online fair will close on October 25th. We have lots of volunteer opportunities to fit your busy schedule, beginning with set up on Friday, October 14th. Please contact Kimberly Marx at [email protected] to volunteer. Family Literacy Night Don’t miss out on all the fun on Tuesday, October 18th during Family Literacy Night. It’s a great night for reading with the family and you won’t want to miss other literacy activities that are planned! Please see the attached flyer for more information!
6th Annual Walkathon Lace up your running shoes. The annual Country Trails Walkathon is fast approaching. Remember to turn in all pledge envelopes no later than October 13th to be eligible for prizes. You could win a chance to rule the school and be Principal for a day, or go home with a SUPER sized gift basket!
This year’s theme is Superheroes, so channel your inner Superman, Wonder Woman or Captain America and let’s see you speed around that track. The top class with the most laps in each grade will earn an ice cream party!
2016-2017 Yearbooks are on Sale! Purchase your yearbook by October 31st and you have a chance to get your yearbook for FREE with personalization added. See the attached flyer and order form for details.
Hands Around the World The Hands Around the World committee will be hosting an informational meeting on October 17th for the event to be held in January, 2017. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Classroom Photographers Needed The following classrooms are in need of a classroom photographer. The job of the classroom photographer will be to take pictures at all classroom parties and special events, too. Without a photographer, these classes will not have a "memories page" in the yearbook. You don't have to be a professional, just own a digital camera (no smartphone photos, please). Please contact Christine Zeinieh at [email protected] or 310-594-7144 if you would like to volunteer.

Mother/Daughter Event This year’s Mother/Daughter event will be held on Saturday, October 22nd from 3:00 - 5:00pm at Randall Oaks Park in West Dundee! Please see the attached flyer and map for more information. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to enjoy time together outside!
Please note: The Mother/Daughter committee is looking for volunteers to help at the event; volunteers are needed to help with check-in and monitor the pumpkin and food tables. Box Tops for Education Fall Contest
Meet the newest Cougar at Country Trails – Box Top Buddy! He’s a cute, little guy who wants to help Country Trails reach our goal of $2,000 from Box Tops this year to help fund PTO and school programs! The Fall Box Top Contest runs from 9/30/16 – 10/17/16. There will be individual and class prizes for submitting the most Box Tops. The class who submits the most Box Tops will get to have Buddy join them until the next contest!
Please have your students submit all Box Tops to their teacher by Monday, Oct 17th to make the submission cut off. There is a form attached to collect Box Tops if you prefer that method. Please make sure your child’s name, grade and teacher are on the bag/envelope/sheets so they get proper credit! Feel free to contact Nancy Morden at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Restaurant Nights - Buffalo Wild Wings It’s “Restaurant Night” all year long at Buffalo Wild Wings! Effective immediately, BWW will keep a running total of 10% of sales from every check when a CT family eats at the South Elgin, Schaumburg or Geneva locations through April 2, 2017! All you have to do is present the “Home Team Advantage” (HTA) card to your server when you order and they will add 10% of the check to our total. Be sure your receipt lists HTA on it to ensure that we received the credit. Please see the attached flyer for the HTA card.
Fall Labels for Education Contest
We are having our annual Fall Labels for Education Contest from October 18th -November 18th . In order for labels to apply for the contest, they must be cut out and placed in a labeled envelope with the student's name, grade, and teacher. Additionally, please make sure the Labels for Education logo is on each turned in label.* Prizes will be awarded to the winning class and to the student that turn in the most labels.
*New info from Labels for Education!!: As of August 1, 2016, only UPCs with the Labels for Education logo will be accepted and redeemed for points. Therefore, labels without the Labels for Education logo will not be counted for the contest. Please make sure to check for the logo. Thank you!!!

A 3.1 mile course will take you through winding wild-flower and tree-lined paths and the streets of the Highland Woods Subdivision in Elgin, IL. This course will offer some slight uphill challenges, not all that ferocious, as well as some downhill relief with plenty of flat areas! Whether you run
or walk, we hope you will find it a peaceful and visually relaxing journey. The course is currently pending USATF certification!
Proceeds will go to the Central School District 301’s youth programs and for classroom resources and technology equipment.
