University Entrance Requirements

Each post-secondary institution has specific entrance requirements for each of their different programs:

Some examples are:• SFU requires English 12 and 3 Gr. 12 approved courses.

• University of Saskatchewan and Alberta requires English 12 and 4 Gr. 12 approved courses.

• UBC and UBCO create an average from English 12 and 3 Gr. 12 approved courses. They will also be looking at a personal portfolio and all academic Grade 11 marks for admission IF the required Grade 12 courses are not completed by February 1st.

Specialty ProgramsCulinary Arts – full time for one semester

Firefighting Academy – one period plus training with West Kelowna Fire Department outside of school time

Hairdressing Academy – full time program (includes English 12 / Communications 12) plus outside of school for work placement

Baseball Academy – outside of timetable (Fall and Spring)

Golf Academy – outside of timetable (Fall and Spring)

Hockey Academy – one period, usually Semester 2

Soccer Academy – one period, usually Semester 1
