ABOUT THE DUBLIN SCHOOL

A family run school for personal attention We are a family run business - with the Dublin School you are not dealing with a large impersonal chain of schools. We are a team that cares about each and every student as an individual. We personally organise all services that we provide from the moment you arrive in Ireland until the time you leave. We have been running courses in Ireland since 1968, we have more experience in running EFL programmes in Ireland than anyone else!

An atmosphere conducive to learning Learning is not just for the classroom. We run a social school and believe that a relaxed atmosphere is the best learning environment. Students are encouraged to learn not only about Irish culture, but also about that of their classmates. From the classes to the social programme and the host families, we ensure that everything is in place for you to learn in a fun and relaxed environment.

Flexibility We are flexible. We offer an experience tailored to you. Do you want to arrive mid-week? No problem. Do you need something that you do not see on our website or in our brochure? Just ask! We can cater for family groups where not all members wish to take a course. If you wish to arrange overnight tours to other parts of Ireland let us know and we can make arrangements for you.

Value We believe that we offer the best combination of quality and price in Dublin. If you feel you have a better offer elsewhere let us know and we will challenge ourselves! We do not charge course registration fees, book fees or accommodation registration charges. All our excursions are included in the course fee - there are no 'hidden' charges with the DS!

OUR COURSES We offer courses to students from as young as 8 years of age. We accept individual bookings for students from 12 years old, and children from 8 years old if travelling with a group or parent /supervising adult. Accommodation can be arranged either with host families or in residence. All host families are carefully selected by the school and have been vetted in advance. Families are welcoming and friendly, and are very used to hosting students – this is an excellent opportunity for students to practise their English! Our residence is located on the nearby UCD campus (20 minutes walk). All residential accommodation is in single rooms. Dublin School staff live on campus with junior students and accompany them to school each day in addition to supervising them in the evenings. In residence breakfast and dinner is provided in the restaurant on the campus, lunch is in St Andrew’s College. All our courses take place in our summer school located in St Andrews College, Booterstown, Co Dublin - a first class school facility located beside the sea, just 5km south of Dublin city centre.
