COURSE TITLE:
PERISHABLE SKILLS PROGRAM (PSP) CONTINUED PROFESSIONAL TRAINING
OVERVIEW: Over the course of four-days, successful completion will satisfy the 14-hour, minimum requirement, of the Perishable Skills Program training, as set forth by POST. During the four days, students will receive eight hours of Arrest and Control / RCB Recertification, eight hours of Driving/Force Options Simulator, eight hours of Tactical Firearms training, and eight hours of Tactical Communication / De-Escalation Techniques training. The following demonstrates the format of this course presentation:
• Two, 2 Day Blocks of instruction. Block “A” and Block “B” • Allows attendees to go to Block “A” and Block “B” in four consecutive days, or • Attend Block “A” and Block “B” in separate weeks, months, or years within the
two-year PSP cycle • Block “A” - TacComm / De-Escalation Techniques (8 hours) and
Arrest and Control / RCB Update (8 hours) • Block “B” – Driving / Force Options Simulator Combo (8 hours) and
Firearms / Tactical Handgun Advanced (8 hours) PREREQUISITE: Must be a full-time sworn law enforcement officer currently employed with a city or
county law enforcement agency (P.O.S.T. Administrative Manual).

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Arrest & Control / RCB: Class C Pants or cargo style pants and a t-shirt, etc. Meet in Mat-room #1.
FOS/LEDS Combo: No weapons are allowed in the simulator room. Students should bring duty belt, and impact weapon. Please keep all firearms, magazines, knives, and chemical weapons in your vehicles. The simulator rooms can be on the chilly side, so bring a jacket or light cover-up just in case. (BCTC Main Building)
Range: It is highly recommended you bring a hat, sunscreen, and hydration supplies. The BCTC range is located outdoors and shade is minimal on the shooting line.
TacComm / De-Escalation Techniques: This course is held in a classroom. Please see BCTC Dress Code link below for additional information.
AMMUNITION: Outside agencies need to supply 500 rounds of handgun ammunition.
ENROLLMENT: Register online: www.regionaltrainingprogram.org Create a “Site Login & Registration” (initial set up only), for enrollment access. After providing the standard registration information and successful submission,
a verification email will be sent from the site to the email address provided. Click on the link provided in the email to activate the RTP user account. Log into the RTP site with selected username & password. Click on the title of the
training event, fill out the course registration form and submit. If the form has been correctly submitted, registrant will receive an auto response
confirmation to their email address.
*Registrants have sole responsibility to communicate event information to their agency supervisors / liaisons.

Registrants may log into the website, using their “Username” and “Password.” From the Home Page, click on the event previously registered. Under “Event Properties,” please select “Cancel Registration.” Students must cancel no later than 10 days prior to the class. Cancellations less
than 10 days prior to the class will result in loss of tuition.

Clothing suitable to active participation in the Arrest and Control class. Shorts, and wrestling or mat shoes are allowed. Appropriate range attire or department issued uniform for the Tactical Handgun class. Body armor is required for the range. Department issued uniform or casual business attire while at Ben Clark Training Center. See BCTC Dress Code
