Grade 11 English Options
Students pick 1 English 11 course from the following 4 options:

Application)
All courses satisfy the English 11 requirement and teach reading, writing and speaking skills. The main difference is
the content being used to teach these skills.
Career Life Connections & Capstone
This mandatory course is required for graduation, and is intended to help prepare you for career-related aspects of your life after high school
It is run off-timetable
In the second half of Grade 11, you will be added to a CLC TEAMS class. Make sure you check your school email and CLC Team regularly. TEAMS is the primary platform for this course.
There are assignments and a Capstone Project
CAPSTONE- You will get to design a project that combines what you like to do and what will help you for your future
CAPSTONE- It can be directly towards your future career path (if you know what it is), or to develop a skill set that will benefit you after high school.

To create an account you will need your provincial education number. This can be found on your report card.
Numeracy & Literacy Assessments
• All students must complete the numeracy and literacy assessments before graduation. They will not count towards your GPA.
• Another grade 10 numeracy write will be this year in April. If you did not write it in November, you will need to write it then. Please see your counsellor as soon as possible if you need to arrange an April write.

Basic University Entrance Requirements
Every Post Secondary has different admission requirements. It’s your responsibility to do your research on this. Universities are now
evaluating based on grade 11 and 12 marks.
• Some current examples:
- UBC: Very program specific. It is imperative to check the website
- SFU: Evaluation based on 5 classes (List A & List B Classes)
• Each university will have different admission requirements depending on what program & university you are looking into.
