Students in WMNST 105N were exploring the concept of “women in different worlds” throughout the entire course. To help take her students out of Erie, PA and around the globe, Audrey Thompson had IMEX Lab add to the Experience Catalogue 9 videos representing women who are typical (or notably unusual) for each the regions that were covered in class. Students then worked in pairs to view them in-class on View Masters. Students were asked to score the degree to which they agree with the question “How much did 360º video help you understand materials in your class?” on a scale from 1-5, with 1 indicating “not at all” and 5 indicating “a lot”. 10 students (71%) shared their reviews of the assignment with IMEX Lab, with the average score being 3.2. Anecdotal feedback points to a high quality screen in the viewer (like with the Oculus Go) being a quick way to boost the overall impression of 360º content.
