Barron News-Shield — Wed., July 4, 2012 — 3A www.news-shield.com (See Court News page 4A) Courthouse News Circuit Court R.L. man pleads guilty to eeing Barron County jail A Rice Lake man pleaded guilty June 27 to eeing the Barron County Jail while on work release last April, but negotiations continue on two felony charges that he harbored and aided a felon and damaged property in connection with a March 26 inci- dent in Rice Lake. Andrew S. Featherly, 25, 1228 Kern Ave., Rice Lake, failed to re- turn to the jail April 19 after nishing what should have been an 11 a.m.-6 p.m. work shift. He was in jail pending the outcome of the other two charges against him, in connection with allegedly trying to conceal the presence of 26-year- old Brittany Klobertanz, Rice Lake, at the Microtel, Rice Lake, on March 26. The charge of criminal damage to property stems from a screen which was broken as the pair allegedly at- tempted tied bedsheets together and hung them out the motel window in an attempt to escape, court docu- ments said. Sentencing is set for Sept. 5 on the escape charge against Featherly. Klobertanz pleaded guilty May 1 to one count of forgery in connection with charges from 2011. Two felony bail jumping charges were dismissed but read into the record. Klobertanz was scheduled to be sentenced June 29. Man pleads not guilty to Clinton burglary charges A Barron man pleaded not guilty last week on charges that he burglar- ized a town of Clinton residence on May 25, according to Barron County Circuit Court documents. Trevier J. Foss, 35, 1413 9 1/2 St., Barron, was arrested after a neighbor reported he had caught a man break- ing into his home and was holding him at gunpoint. Sheriff’s deputies and a Wisconsin State Trooper arrived, and one of the deputies said he saw the homeowner through a window, with the suspect, later identied as Foss. Foss later told police that the homeowner put the gun to the back of his head, forced him into the base- ment of the home and red a shot onto the oor next to where he was laying. Homeowner Dean Dettman, 53, 1411 9 1/2 St., is being prosecuted separately on charges of reckless en- dangerment and false imprisonment. Foss is due to appear in an Aug. 1 plea hearing. Man faces multiple charges following choking incident Rice Lake police said Thursday that they arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly choking a woman during a domestic disturbance on Wednesday afternoon. Capt. Mike Nelson, department spokesman, did not identify the sus- pect or the location of the incident. According to the report, police were called to the scene of a domes- tic disturbance in progress, and that a woman was being choked. The alleged victim told police that there had been no physical confron- tation, but witnesses said they had seen the woman being choked by a male assailant. Police said charges against the ar- rested man include strangulation, suffocation, disorderly conduct, do- mestic abuse, resisting an ofcer, child abuse (causing mental harm) and felony bail jumping. Danielle R. Knolin, 18, Rice Lake, was cited for disorderly conduct (June 26) and ned $200.50 June 27. Chase A. Phetteplace, 27, Chetek, was cited for animal run-at-large (June 14) June 27. Jenevieve A. Phetteplace, 24, Chetek, was cited for animal run-at-large (June 14) June 27. Stacy R. Neuman, 41, Chetek; Debo- rah M. Mac Donald, 62, Barron; John W. Liska, 64, Chetek; Gwen F. Haseltine, 54, Barron; James M. Davis, 43, Cam- eron; and Nancy J. Amelse, 49, Chetek; were cited for license/tag violation (June 19) June 27. Douglas V. Mlejnek, 40, Rice Lake, was charged with misdemeanor bail jumping (June 26) and signed a $500 cash bond June 27. He must not drink alcohol, enter bars or drive. Adam H. Wild, 40, Rice Lake, was charged with operating while revoked, resisting/obstructing, OWI and operat- ing with PAC [3rd] (May 12) June 27. He signed a $1,000 bond and must not drink alcohol, enter bars or drive. Damon N. Mitchell, 36, Eagan, Minn., was charged with three felony counts of forgery (Dec. 14, 20, 22) June 25. The complaint indicates Mitchell is charged with cashing fraudulent checks at Mar- ketplace Foods in Rice Lake. Mohamed A. Abshir, 21, Barron, was charged with felony child abuse-inten- tionally causing harm (June 26) June 27. Signature bond is set at $5,000. Accord- ing to the complaint, he allegedly hit and head-butted a 13-year-old kid during a dice game. Paul E. Oftedahl, 36, Rice Lake, was charged with felony possession of meth- amphetamine (June 22) June 25. He signed a $2,500 bond and must not pos- sess or use drugs or paraphernalia. Teddy J. Rachels, 41, Chippewa Falls, was charged with felony theft and posses- sion of methamphetamine (June 23) June 25. He signed a $500 cash bond and must not have contact with the Verizon store in Turtle Lake or possess or use drugs or paraphernalia. The complaint alleges that Rachels stole a phone at the Verizon store, and police found a bag of meth in his possession when they searched him to recover the phone. A citation for issuing worthless check (2009) was dismissed against Tyler E. Rykal, 23, Chippewa Falls. Crystal L. Hetchler, 22, Rice Lake, charged with operating while revoked (May 31), was set to be released on a $1,000 bond June 27. Patricia J. Shackley, 53, Cameron, was charged with operating without valid li- cense [2nd in 3 years] (May 29) and is set to be released on a $1,000 bond. Michael A. Le, 25, Cameron, charged with disorderly conduct-domestic abuse (Dec. 31, 2011), signed a $1,000 bond June 27 and must have no abusive contact with parties involved. R.L. man pleads guilty tofl eeing Barron County jail

A Rice Lake man pleaded guilty June 27 to fl eeing the Barron County Jail while on work release last April, but negotiations continue on two felony charges that he harbored and aided a felon and damaged property in connection with a March 26 inci-dent in Rice Lake.

Andrew S. Featherly, 25, 1228 Kern Ave., Rice Lake, failed to re-turn to the jail April 19 after fi nishing what should have been an 11 a.m.-6 p.m. work shift.

He was in jail pending the outcome of the other two charges against him, in connection with allegedly trying to conceal the presence of 26-year-old Brittany Klobertanz, Rice Lake,

at the Microtel, Rice Lake, on March 26.

The charge of criminal damage to property stems from a screen which was broken as the pair allegedly at-tempted tied bedsheets together and hung them out the motel window in an attempt to escape, court docu-ments said.

Sentencing is set for Sept. 5 on the escape charge against Featherly.

Klobertanz pleaded guilty May 1 to one count of forgery in connection with charges from 2011. Two felony bail jumping charges were dismissed but read into the record.

Klobertanz was scheduled to be sentenced June 29.

Man pleads not guilty toClinton burglary charges

A Barron man pleaded not guilty last week on charges that he burglar-ized a town of Clinton residence on May 25, according to Barron County Circuit Court documents.

Trevier J. Foss, 35, 1413 9 1/2 St., Barron, was arrested after a neighbor reported he had caught a man break-ing into his home and was holding him at gunpoint.
