Senior Year• Fall – college visits & college

applications mailed by Christmas

• Winter – financial aid – FAFSA – completed by March 1st (check the college deadline)

• Spring – compare college & financial aid packages to select your school

College Rep Procedures• An announcement will be made when a

college rep will be here to meet with students

• Check listing on Guidance bulletin board

• Get your planner signed as your pass

College Visit Procedures

• Every student is entitled to 2 excused college visit days - & a third with prior approval

• Parent needs to call you off that morning – saying that you are going on a college visit

• You must get your College Visit Form signed at the college

College Visitation Days• University of Akron –

• October 11th or November 1st – all majors • Days for specific majors• www.uakron.edu/admissions

• Kent State University – • Previews – October 17th, Nov. 7th & 14th • Days for specific majors • www.admissions.kent.edu

• Go to websites if interested in other college visitation days or open houses.

Online College Applications

• All colleges prefer you apply online and some may require it.

• Signature page – this will be at the end of your online application – be sure to print this out and bring to Guidance

• Fee Waivers – free/reduced lunch

Application Deadlines• Pay close attention to the deadlines for the

particular schools you are interested in!

• Regular application deadline• Honors Program deadlines – Akron Feb. 1st reg/Nov 1st Early

• Scholarship Application deadline – Akron Mar. 1st

• Goal: All college applications in before Christmas Break!!!
