In February 2009 an idea em
erged out of the blue.
Tired of the standard p
rocedure of recording
just another album, we thought i
t was time to do something spec
ial. Over the course o
f
8 years touring Germany and th
e rest of Europe, by th
e way getting to know hundreds
of cool
musicians and non-musicians, w
e thought to bring as
many people together a
s possible to
make a dream come true: a m
ultinational recording
with people from all over th
e place, who
are into this music as much as we are.
With a lot of effort, plan
ning and hundreds of
miles
on real and virtual hig
hways, we brought together 18 musicians fro
m Germany, the United States,
Austria, the Netherlands
and the Chech Republic to
record some fine tune
s. Ranging from Blues
to Zydeco plain Rock‘n‘Roll to Gospel and
Jazz.
We hope you will enjoy th
e record as much as we did enjoy
the time making it. Big thanks to
everybody who contribu
ted, from players to familes and fri
ends!
Many people asked, why we did it this
rather unusual way - We just said:
WHY NOT!

Europa, und wir lernten im

Unsere Idee: So viele Musiker wie möglich zusa
mmenbringen, um unseren T
raum zu
verwirklichen. Eine interna
tionale CD mit Musikern, die unsere Musik genau
so lieben wie wir.
Neben der eigentlichen
Produktion bedeutete da
s allein schon „logist
isch“ einen riesigen
Aufwand, und wir danken a
llen, dass sie hunderte
von Kilometern auf realen und
virtuellen
Autobahnen auf sich na
hmen, um ihren musikalischen Part zu d
iesem Projekt beizutragen.
Insgesamt sind nun auf „Why Not!“ 18 Musikerinnen
und Musiker zu hören. Aus Deutschland
,
aus den USA, aus Österreich, aus den Niederlanden
und aus der Tschech
ischen
Republik. Jeder brachte seinen p
ersönlichen Stil ein und
es sind auf diesem Album 13
eigene Songs enstanden, die v
on Blues und Jazz über Z
ydeco bis hin zu Rock‘n Roll
und Gospel reichen. Ein gro
