Fáilte go Féile 2019, ár 25ú bliain ar an bhfód. Tá Coiste Féile na Bealtaine faoi chomaoin mhór ag gach éinne a chabhraigh linn. So many people open doors for us and embrace this chaotic disruption of everyday life – Féile wouldn’t happen without that – Go raibh maith agaibh.A new energy has overtaken our Parade this year, Ann Stack and her team have stepped up to replace the irreplaceable Sheila Kelliher. In a year of regeneration, we are also replacing our perennial soldier of sound, Morgan McCarthy! Míle buíochas díbh. This year’s programme is an expression of what’s happening on the Dingle Peninsula, what friends of Féile have come up with, and what we can do with what we’ve got. We don’t have an Arts Centre so we’ve taken on the seafront, handball alleys, interpretative centres, gardens, hillsides, beaches, the Court House and abandoned spaces to bring you live theatre, new thinking, off-beat music, high art and high jinks. There are plenty of one-off experiences of all descriptions going on here – bain trial astu!Gabhaimid buíochas le muintir gnó an Daingin as an gcabhar agus tacaíocht. Buíochas le John Moran as úsáid na hoifige arís i mbliana, le Risteard Mac Liam agus a fhoireann as an bparáid a stiúradh agus go háirithe, buíochas, dos na scoileanna agus a múinteoirí, ealaíontóírí agus céardaithe. Your time and talents make the parade a special and unique event for Dingle and the community. Gabhaimid buíochas le bunscoileanna Dhún Chaoin, Caherboshina, Annascaul, Daingean Uí Chúis, Feothanach, Ceann Trá, Muirioch agus Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne. A big thank you to Bridie at the mart, Beehive Theatre and Máire Ní Dhálaigh. Buíochas le Celcus Sheehy agus Mícheál Ó Conchúir as na comharthaí FnaB agus gach éinne a thug duaiseanna go fial flaithiúl don gcluiche cártaí a reachtáileadh sa Dingle Pub. Colm Mac an Iomaire Séipéilín an DísirtSaturday/Dé Sathairn, 9 p.m.€25Éist le Tost na hAbhann i Séipéilín an Dísirt where Colm explores his new collection before its release in Vicar Street later this month. Recorded on a reel-to-reel tape machine, in Connemara, Colm returns to more traditional ways of creating art. These songs, which Colm describes as both intimate and meditative, songs that oscillate between retreating into childlike imagination and reaching outward in an attempt at considering national identity, are yet another remarkable vista from where Colm stands. “Every project brings with it its art to channel,” he says, “a new prism to put your own emotions through.”
