What should I do if an employee tests positive for COVID-19?Before taking any actions, do an assessment of the situation, for example: What date were they diagnosed? What date were they first symptomatic? When was the last time they were in
physical contact with other employees? Who were those employees? Where in the building were they located
and/or did they go?

What should I do if an employee tests positive for COVID-19? Did they come in contact with any
customers, vendors or others? Did they leave anything at the
workplace that could carry the virus? Did they “carpool” with anyone? Did they socialize with anyone, internally
or externally? What other factors impacted their
interactions with others?

If working remotelyBased upon the findings of the assessment: If you have been working remotely for
more than 14 days and the person has not been in contact with anyone or in your physical location, notification of your employees is essential, but you may not need to take any additional actions at your workplace

If physically at workIf however, you have been physically operating your business, these steps are required: Send the infected person home Immediately notify all employees at
the location* Require all employees to self-isolate for
14 days Inform them of compensation options Hire a certified cleaning service to do
a complete disinfection of your premises
