DEAR HEADTEACHER

This offer complements the wide range of traded services we provide and also captures the professional development offered by the four teaching school alliances within the borough.

Our professional development programmes draw on best practice from both local and national initiatives and are delivered centrally by our school improvement team and external providers. We draw on our outstanding record of achievement in Hackney and beyond to share best practice to support the growth of schools, teachers and leaders.

We offer an extensive range of leadership training to support school leaders at all stages of their careers. The courses for teachers and support staff in primary schools focus on enhancing aspects of quality first teaching (QFT) and developing innovative practice. A range of courses give pedagogical, curriculum and behaviour guidance.

You will find details of our cross phase training for schools in this brochure. Separate brochures are available for early years, secondary and tertiary courses. Prices for individual courses follow each course description. You will also find our CPD packages offer fantastic value and include many of the Hackney Learning Trust courses.

PRIMARY ADVANTAGE NATIONAL TEACHING SCHOOLS

We are six schools working together, alongside a range of partner schools, because we believe we gain many benefits from working collaboratively.

Three of our schools have been recognised as teaching schools for their commitment and strong track record of school to school support, ITT and CPD. All our schools are equally committed to the training and development of all staff. We have a strong track record for supporting others and would like to invite even more schools to get involved with our training and development.

We have made a commitment to a shared responsibility to the wider school community, the provision

of good quality education and the improvement of life chances for pupils in the community beyond that of our own schools.

HoW To BooK

We offer a range of professional learning and support that can be booked through our website: www.primaryadvantage.sch.uk

We can also discuss the option of developing bespoke CPD packages that can be delivered in your school and tailored to the needs of your staff.

Children in our schools succeed in Mathematics because their learning is deepened not accelerated. In our schools we use Webb’s ‘Depth of Knowledge’ to empower teachers to develop the children’s understanding, find opportunities to assess and clarify the learning of their group. Through established classroom routines children respond to questions which do not recap procedural understanding but investigative how children can apply their learning to wider contexts. This course will allow you to see Depth of Knowledge in action, understand the pedagogy behind it and reflect on how to implement it in your own contexts.
