Page 4 CPL News Volume 2 ; Issue 2 S umer Camp 2015 During the summer vacations children were free for few months and Chughtai Public Library decided to organize a summer camp for the children to keep them busy and possibly enrich them with some new skills and knowledge in pleasant and healthyenvironment to save the wastage of their time and health during summer. Summercampwasstartedfrom20June2015,morethan40childrenwereregisteredfor summer camp. The summer camp focused on academic and extra-curricular activities. It was free of cost for the children age 6-12 year old of the local community, studying in the differ-ent schools. The children of different grades enjoyed and learned during summer camp with following activities: Islamic educationIndoor games Paintings/art &craft Story telling Computer literacy Vocabulary spelling Creative writing Spoken EnglishCartoon movies Page 5 CPL News Volume 2 ; Issue 2 Windows 10 Windows 10 is a personal computer operating system developed by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems.Windows10introducedrevisionstotheoperatingsystem'suserinterface,includingtheadditionof aStartmenusimilartoWindows7butincorporatingWin-dows8'slive tiles,avirtualdesktopsystem,anotifications sidebar(replacingthecharmsbaronWindows8/8.1),and the ability to adjust user interface behaviors based on avail-ableinputdevicesparticularlyonlaptops.Windows10 providesintegrationwithadditionalMicrosoftservices,in-cluding the intelligent personal assistant Cortana, and Xbox Live.Windows10alsointroducedanewdefaultweb browser,MicrosoftEdge,aswellasintegratedsupport for fingerprint and face recognition login, and new versions ofDirectXandWDDMtoimprovetheoperatingsystem's graphics capabilities for games.Best New Features in Windows 10: It'sfree:One of the biggest new developments in the Windows 10 story is that it will be completely free to upgradeStartMenu:Windows 10 will mark the return of the much loved Start Menu. In the latest build shown, it has someupdatedgraphicsandcanoptionallygofull-screen.Halfofthemenulooksprettymuchlikeitdidin Windows 7 but there's the obvious addition of Live Tiles.Cortana: CortanaisoneoftheheadlinefeaturesofWindows10atleastasfarasMicrosoftiscon-cerned. Cortana will help you find things on your PC, manage your calendar, track packages, find files, chat with you, and tell jokes. The more you use Cortana, the more personalized your experience will be.Xbox app and streaming: There's good news for gamers as not only with the Xbox One get Windows 10.Microsoft has introduced some sweet new features. Windows 10 will come with the Xbox app (although there was no mention of Windows 10 for phones getting it) which has features like the ability to control the Xbox One and a DVR capture for any Windows games.Universal apps: ThenewsofUniversalappsisgoodnewsforanyoneusingmorethanoneWindows device. A bundle of apps including Photos, Videos, Music, Maps, People & Messaging and Mail & Calen-dar(andpresumablymoreinthefuture)willlookandfeelthesameacrossdifferentdevicesand screen sizes. The data will also be saved and sync automatically via One Drive.Edge browser: Microsoft's new web browser is called Edge, formally 'Project Spartan' and will replace Internet Explorer in Windows 10.Continuum Mode: On 2in1 devices (hybrids and convertibles), Windows 10 will make life easier with a'ContinuumMode'.ThismeanstheOSmoveseasilybetweenlaptop(keyboard/mouse)andtablet (touch) usage modes automatically. It will do this if it detects the loss or addition of a keyboard.HoloLens: This one might be somewhat far off and futuristic, but Windows 10 is the first holographic computing platform.
