CPUs and GPUs which are specifically designed for high-end computer graphics. Intel and AMD are two
major companies which have monopolized the CPU world while the giants of the GPU market are NVidia
and AMD.
The Core i-series is one of the most popular CPUs manufactured by Intel and AMD K10 series is one of the
most successful processor families of AMD.
As for the successful series of GPUs the GTX series of NVidia and Radeon series of AMD are the most
popular.
CPU-(Central processing unit)
Definition: The hardware within a computer that carries out the instructions of a computer program by performing the basic arithmetical, logical, and input/output operations of the system.
CPU consists of few major parts:
1. Arithmetic unit
2. Logical unit

3. Registers
4. Program counters
5. Cache memory
The parts of CPU
From above parts CPU cache is playing
an important role in computer graphics.
CPU Cache Memory
Definition: A CPU cache is a cache used by the central processing unit (CPU) of a computer to reduce the average time to access memory. The cache is a smaller, faster memory which stores copies of the
data from frequently used main memory locations.
Data cache is usually organized as a hierarchy of more cache levels.
L1--Fastest cache level. Smallest in size.
L2--Slower than L1.higher than L1 in size.
L3--Slowest cache level, relatively largest in size.
Finding 1: Higher the CPU cache (L1, L2, L3).Faster the CPU performance will be.
Clock Speed
Definition: The speed at which a microprocessor executes instructions.
Finding 2: Higher the clock speed Faster the CPU performance will be.
Cores And threads
Core- Definition: A physical processor printed onto the same CPU circuit which can perform
multiple task simultaneously (Concurrent Execution).
Threads:-Definition: No of tasks each core can manage.(Logical processor)
Finding 3: Higher the Cores and threads faster the CPU can perform.
GPU(Graphic processing unit)
5 | P a g e
Definition: A specialized electronic circuit designed to rapidly manipulate and alter memory to accelerate the creation of images in a frame buffer intended for output to a display.
Types of GPU memory
1. DDR
2. DDR 2
3. GDR 3
4. GDR 5.
DDR, DDR2, and GDDR3 are all just double data rate SDRAM. But the specifications for voltages and
timings were adjusted with each specification to allow for higher clock speeds.
GDR 5. DDR5 is based on DDR3 SDRAM memory which has double the data lines compared to DDR2
SDRAM, but GDDR5 also has 8-bit wide pre-fetch buffers similar toGDDR4.
Finding 4.GDR 5 is the Fastest Memory on market regarding GPU.

1. Air Cooling System
2. Water cooling System
Computer cooling is required to remove the waste heat produced by computer components, to keep
components within permissible operating temperature limits.
Components that are susceptible to temporary malfunction or permanent failure if overheated
include integrated circuits such as CPUs, chipset, graphics, and hard disk drives.
Here are some examples:
I. Cooler Master Seidon 120V Compact All-In-One CPU Liquid Water
Cooling System.
II. Corsair Hydro Series H50 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler - cooling system.
