As a school, we want to recognize veteran's efforts and patriotism. Part of our school assessment lies in what is called a Program Review. The Program Re- view covers four areas of content: Practical Living, Arts and Humanities, Writing and the total K-3 Program. This has replaced KPREP testing in these areas. As a school, we are required to expose our students to college and career readiness and then grade our efforts. Students are required to submit various reviews on the programs they participate in writing form. Ask your child to share what they have participated in. This includes but is not limited to field trips, school performances, and visitors from various careers who come to the school. November and December are two of the shortest school months. With a week break for Thanksgiving and two weeks off at Christmas, is will be the end of the second nine weeks and time for report cards. Please take time to do homework and ask your child to share anything they have learned in the classroom. We need all the parental support you can offer your child. Last, I want to thank all those who had a part in making the 1st annual "Walk to School" event a huge success. Crabbe led the district with 68% participation. 260 + students participated and the school received a check from the Kentucky Heart Foundation and Laura Patrick for $750. This money will be used for materials for gym class and our spri11g Field Day events. Amy Kessler's name \Vas dra\vn from all the participants and she won money for a new pair of shoes. CRABBE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER

News From Your Principal ... As we start the month ofNovember, we need to take a moment and reflect on Veteran's Day and the sacrifice those in the Armed Services have made for you and I. These ladies and gentlemen are to be praised and commended for their dedication to the great country we live in. Crabbe will be holding a small ceremony at the gazebo in Central Park on Friday, November 8th, at 9:30 for all veterans wishing to attend. As a school, we want to recognize veteran's efforts and patriotism.

Part of our school assessment lies in what is called a Program Review. The Program Review covers four areas of content: Practical Living, Arts and Humanities, Writing and the total K-3 Program.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Intermediate News MRS. NORROD: Mrs. Norrod's sixth grade students enjoyed participating in a science experiment on Halloween Day. The experiment entitled "Frankenworms" allowed the students to experience what happens when a base and an acid collide. The baking soda and water acted as the base, while the vinegar was the acid. Gummy worms were sliced into thinner pieces and placed in the mixture of water and baking soda to soak. After they soaked for a while, they were dropped into the glass of vinegar where they seemed to come alive.

News From Your Music Teacher MRS. HOLDERNESS: Crabbe students in grades first through sixth will participate in a ten to fifteen minute standing ceremony to honor our veterans on Friday, November 8 at 9:30 A.M. at the Gazebo in the park (weather permitting, otherwise in the gym). Crabbe families are welcome to participate in the ceremony and to invite local veterans to attend. A note was sent home on Monday, October 28th, sharing this information and asking that students wear patriotic colors in honor of this holiday. We hope you will join us!
