A completed Foundation Degree (240 credits) is the equivalent to the first two years of an Honours degree which are normally packaged into 20 credit modules.

In this way you build and accumulate credits towards the final degree. After completing the Foundation Degree you can enter or continue in employment or choose a top-up degree to achieve a full degree.

HNC & HND

If you have already achieved an HNC or HND you may be able to use the credit from these to move on to a Foundation Degree or BA top-up. If you are unsure about this do come and ask us for advice.

BA/BSc (Hons) Top-up Degree – 360 credits

Top-up degrees are ideal if you have already successfully completed a HND or Foundation Degree and want to progress to a full degree through one years full-time study or over two years part-time.

Student Success

“ I’m currently a Sales Advisor and Team Leader for my department’s staff and commencing in-house management training for the organisation in the new year. The course helped me to find some grounding in what was a very misty area of my life. My career choice and the support I received helped transform my work ethic as well as giving me knowledge and experience to understand the industry and be successful working in a service dominated environment. The experiences and learning improved my confidence and potential, if it hadn’t been for this I wouldn’t have pushed myself to complete the honours degree.”

“ After completing my A-Levels, I commenced study at The Aviation Academy in September 2009 in the hope of gaining background knowledge of the aviation industry. From school I was keen to enter the industry but this proved difficult as, despite achieving good grades at school, I did not have the experience to allow me to obtain an airport role during the difficult economic climate. Having attended the Open Evening at The Aviation Academy I was impressed by the range of subjects covered within the Aviation Management and Operations Foundation Degree, along with the modern facilities at the college - and unique location next to Leeds Bradford Airport.”
