Create-a-drawing

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

8.5” x 11” paper (for

printing)

Paper and pencil

Coloring materials of

choice (crayons, markers,

colored pencils)

Plastic page protectors

(optional)

PREP: Print both pages of the activity and

have drawing paper, pencils and coloring

materials available for students to use.

To make the pages more durable and keep

both pages together, slide both pages into

plastic page protectors back to back so

students can flip over the page as they finish

step one.

ACTIVITY: Follow the directions on the

drawing guide to complete the base

drawing. Use the second page to add

details. Choose one image from each

column to add details. Color your drawing

when finished.

Some students may want to add additional

details not on the sheet, and that’s okay!

This activity is a hybrid between a guided

drawing and a free choice activity! It is an

especially engaging activity for all students;

both the ones who need a little help getting

started and the ones who thrive on choice

and freedom.

Close off the shapes by drawing a line that travels across, down, across, then back up. Repeat all the way across.

Add two turrets on each side of the castle by drawing two vertical lines, then connecting with a castle line. Add a center section as well.
