Add one of these internship options to your Business English or Vacation ‘N Learn® course. Practice all you’ve learned in class in a real-life business environment in either New York City or Miami South Beach. Each city offers a variety of fields in which to practice your English communication skills.

Rennert offers English for Academic Purposes to help you learn the skills you will need to succeed in academic life in universities here or abroad. This semi-intensive Academic English course is offered at the intermediate level and above to prepare you for your academic future. Small classes with 10 students or fewer focus on critical thinking skills and strategies, research techniques, academic writing, reading, listening, and note-taking skills which are essential for academic success. Program duration 2 to 30 weeks.

GAP YEAR /UNIVERSITY COMBINATION PROGRAMSExperience college life in NYC and earn college credits toward a degree. Spend 6 months or longer in NYC improving your English and preparing for college classes at Berkeley College in midtown Manhattan. First, take a minimum of 12 weeks of English to prepare for university life. Then transfer to Berkeley College where students choose among credit-bearing courses in Business, Fashion Business, Principles of Marketing and Management, or Business Law.

Business classes bear three credits each and cover subjects that include Business Organization and Management, Principles of Management, and Principles of Marketing. Learn how businesses are organized and managed alongside American and international coeds. Discuss case studies and learn the Manager’s role in business while you discover the importance of the marketing mix, market research and consumer behavior.

Fashion Business classes bear three credits each and cover an introduction to the Fashion Business, an overview of the textile industry for both apparel and home as well as the visual merchandising and color theory that make clothing sell. Study with American and international students to learn about planning and inventory control, markdowns, and more.

Law classes bear three credits each and take you through an introduction to the U.S. legal system, trial and appellate courts, contracs and more. Business Law focuses on contracts, commerce, property and sales.

Experience New York City’s dance scene with Rennert’s English Plus Dance at Steps on Broadway. Study English four lessons per day then take dance classes in a variety of styles such as hip hop, jazz, street, tap, and ballet.

Develop your musical talent at the prestigious Kaufman Music Center, one of the finest community performing arts schools in the U.S. Take private instructions from professional musicians in voice training and nearly all instruments. (Please bring your own instrument.)

Earn 4 credits recommended for transfer from New York Film Academy in their intensive Filmmaking or Acting workshops. First, spend four weeks in Rennert’s Rapid Progress 30, and then attend New York Film Academy for four weeks where you will gain hands-on experience either writing, shooting, directing, and editing three short film projects or acting for film. If you have a passion for fashion, Rennert and LIM College “Where Business Meets Fashion” offer an exciting 4-week, intensive program for you! Combine your 16- or 20-lesson English course with 15 hours per week of fashion classes at LIM College in the heart of NYC. Get a hands-on look at the fashion industry, and learn from professionals in fashion buying, merchandising, fashion forecasting, trend-spotting, and more.

Enjoy amateur photography courses taught by experienced photographers at a boutique photography studio. PhotoUno Studio offers crash courses in Digital Photography and Photographing New York City. This course can be combined with a 16- or 20-lesson English course. You will practice English with New Yorkers while you see the city and learn about photography. Bring your own digital camera.

The Lia Schorr Institute offers a certificate course in professional make-up application techniques. Students practice English 16, 20, or 30 lessons per week at Rennert, then attend make-up classes in the evening at the Lia Schorr Institute where you will receive instruction from top make-up experts in the field. This 50-hour certificate course features small, hands-on classes that focus on the proper use of application tools, color theory, highlighting, contouring, and corrective techniques.

At Digital Film Academy, creativity and technical learning are emphasized in their friendly environment. You’ll learn to create a digital character for animation, develop a final product, and build a solid basis for future 3D projects. Attend classes in the morning three times per week at Digital Film Academy, then Rennert English classes in the afternoon.

Economy Residence-Vanderbilt YMCA: Minutes from the school, this is a good option for short-term students who value the convenience of a great location over luxury. Rooms are small and simple in single and double format (doubles for two students travelling together, except in summer months), with shared bath-rooms on every floor. Wi-Fi, kitchen, gym membership, pool and laundry facilities are on-site and available to students. Maximum stay is 90 days.

Standard Residences-de Hirsch 92nd Street YMCA: Located on the illustrious Upper East Side of Manhattan, a short subway ride from the school, this residence is perfect for long-term students. Comfortable single rooms are available, with Wi-Fi, kitchens (kosher available), shared bathrooms on every floor, gym membership, pool and laundry facilities on-site. Minimum stay is 30 days.

1760 Residence: Located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, a short distance from school by public transportation, this modern, newly-renovated residence features double rooms with private, ensuite bathrooms. Available in summer months only, July – August.

Midtown East Executive Apartments: Executive-style apartments, suitable for professionals and mature students. These fully-furnished, two-bedroom apartments are located minutes from the school and offer flat screen TVs, large beds, full living room, kitchen and bathroom. Shared with one other Rennert student. Weekly cleaning, internet access and Smart TV are all included. Minimum stay is 14 days.

Student Visas: Students enrolled in programs of 18 hours per week or more of general English may apply for an F-1 student visa in their home country. Rennert will issue the I-20 necessary for the F-1 student visa application.

In order to receive an I-20, students must provide the following:• Completed Application Form

• Registration fees paid in full • Photocopy of valid passport (must be valid for at least 6 months

after your expected stay) • Financial documentation as required by US Government regulations

All documents must be in English or accompanied by an English translation. Additional information about student visas and the visa application process can be found on our website at: http://www.rennert.com/english/student_visas.htm.Health Insurance: All students are required to have health insurance coverage during their stay in the United States. Rennert offers health insurance coverage through Guard.me, which can be

purchased at the time of enrollment or after you arrive in the US.

Airport Transfer: Upon request, Rennert can organize an airport transfer for students wishing to be met at the airport and taken to their housing location in New York and Miami. See Fees and Dates for airport transfer details.

First Day / Orientation: Your first day of classes will be student orientation. You will take an English placement test (written and oral interview), you will meet staff and see a presentation about the school, city and activities and excursions available while studying at Rennert. You will also receive your class and level placement. Please keep in mind that Rennert does not guarantee any class schedules and cannot guarantee that you will have classes in the morning.

In New York during the summer months orientation is held at a separate location in New York City. You will receive information about the location and time for orientation when you get your course confirmation from Rennert.

Every Monday evening we hold a welcome party for students to meet other new students, current students and staff. Join us for this fun event, and enjoy free food in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Facilities: All Rennert locations provide free wireless internet access, computer lounges for student use, and a student lounge area for students to relax between classes, meet other students and make friends.

Activities: Daily, teacher-led activities and weekend excursions are organized for students, as well as information sessions about applying to local universities, community volunteer opportunities and special holiday events. See our Activities page for details on activities offered in each location.

Student Services: Rennert’s Student Services staff is available Monday-Friday to help students with questions about courses, student visas, activities and housing.

Rennert International has created 2 special programs designed for families in sunny South Beach, Miami. Option 1 allows families to study year-round at Rennert South Beach with parents joining our regular adult English programs and children studying in private, individualized lessons with one of Rennert’s many highly-qualified teachers. In option 2, our summer family program combines our outstanding Summer Plus program for teens with our excellent adult English program to create a “hassle-free” holiday.
