Please note that we do not represent healthcare.gov or the Marketplace. These step by step instructions are

an unofficial guide and were put together to assist you in creating an account.

1. Download the My Healthcare.gov Account worksheet, print it out and record your selections. Keep it in

a safe place, and have it available for your appointment with Valley Insurance Professionals. Create a

password that you would only use for this. During your appointment with Valley Insurance

Professionals, you will need to be logged into your healthcare.gov account and have internet access.

2. Go to www.healthcare.gov and click on “Log In”

3. Right below the green “LOG IN” button you’ll see “Don’t have an account? Create one now.” Click on

“Create one now”(If it prompts you to enter your state, select Oregon and then select Apply Now)

4. Now you’ll see “Create an account”. Enter your information including First name, Last name, and

email address. You’ll also create a password and enter it twice to be sure that there weren’t any typos.

5. You’ll also need to select three security questions from the list, entering your answers one at a time

in the boxes below where you entered your password.

6. You will see a box that says “I understand and agree with the HealthCare.Gov privacy policy”. Click on

the words “privacy policy” to review the policy and, assuming you agree with the policy, then check the

box indicating that you agree. Then click “CREATE ACCOUNT”

7. You will be prompted to check your email. Open your email in a new tab or window and open the email

from HealthCare.Gov

8. In your email there should be a link to verify your account. Click on this hyperlink.

9. This link should take you back to HealthCare.Gov. You’ll see a blue box that says “Success!” and a

green button that says “CONTINUE”. Click on “CONTINUE”.

10. You will be taken back to Healthcare.Gov. Enter your username (which will be your email address) and

password, and click “LOG IN”

11. Click on the green box that says “I ACCEPT”

12. That’s it! You’ve created an account. Please stop here and click on the button in the top right that says

“Logout” until the time of your appointment.
