Task 3: Make a 1st draft

1- Write a first draft. Make sure to include the setting, the characters

involved and the dialogue for each scene. Your story should have

six to eight one-minute scenes. Refer to the Slender Man as a

model. Print your 1st draft and bring it to class for peer review.

Example:

Scene 1→

- Setting: in a wood

- Characters: Two close friends and the Slender Man

- Dialogue:

Boy: “What’s that?”

Slender Man: [loud breathing sound]

Task 4: Revise – Peer and teacher review

1- Exchange stories with another team.

2- Fill-in the Peer Review chart provided on page 9 to correct and

comment your classmates’ story.

3- Ask the teacher for comments.

Reminder: Use a dictionary and other resources if necessary.

Task 5: Edit your story

1- Edit your story based on your teacher’s and classmates’ comments.

2- Write your final draft.

3- Put your first draft and your final draft in your portfolio.

Task 6: Create a storyboard (computer lab)

1- Go to http://www.storyboardthat.com

2- Watch the introduction video.

3- Click on “create a storyboard.”

4- Make a storyboard to illustrate your story. Organize your text into six

to eight scenes.

5- Print your storyboard and include it in your portfolio.

6- Do not forget to save your storyboard: Click on “save” and “register

here” to create your account.

Reminder: Refer to the teacher’s guide for detailed steps.

Task 7: Take the photos (Homework assignment)

1- Find a digital camera you can use.

2- Find costumes, accessories, etc.

3- Take the pictures. You should take more pictures that what is required

so that you can choose the best ones!

4- Bring them next class.

Task 8: Create a Photo Story 3 file

1- Open PhotoStory 3 on your computer.

2- Import and edit your pictures.

3- Add a title to your pictures.

4- Record and edit your dialogue.

5- Add background music if you wish.

6- Save your story.

7- Listen to your story and check if it needs editing.

8- Save your story on your computer and on one extra device (CD, USB

key, etc.).

Reminder: Refer to the teacher’s guide for detailed steps.

Task 9: Gallery tour presentations

1- Make sure your Photo Story 3 file is ready to be shared with your

classmates.

2- Open your file on your computer.

3- Walk around the computer lab and watch your classmates’ stories.

4- Use the Peer Evaluation sheet provided by the teacher to evaluate a

minimum of TWO photostories (refer to the teacher’s list to find out

which teams you must evaluate).

5- Include your Peer Evaluation form in your portfolio.

Task 10: Criterion-based evaluation form and checklist

1- With your team, fill-in the rubric provided on page 10.

2- Refer to the checklist provided on page 8.

3- Check “Yes” or “No” beside the items that were or were not

completed.
