PRELUDE CALL TO WORSHIP
As we gather for worship, so let us gather ourselves. As we greet our neighbor, so let us greet God. As we shake hands with a stranger, let them be a stranger no more. As we speak openly with a friend, so let us talk openly to God. As the candles are lit, so let our hearts be lit by the warmth of God's love. We gather together to praise God and offer our thanksgiving!
HYMN: Santo, Santo, Santo / Holy, Holy, Holy Cuéllar Green Hymnal #259 OPENING PRAYER
People of God, look about and see the faces of those we know and love, a community of kindred hearts. People of God, look about and see the face of those we hardly know -- strangers, sojourners, forgotten friends, the ones who need an outstretched hand. People of God, look about and see all the images of God in me, in you, in each of us and in all the world God so loves. God's spirit shines for all to see. May our eyes, our hearts and our souls be open this day. Amen.

CALL TO RECONCILLIATION The God who is always present invites us to open our hearts and be honest in our conversations as we come to this place of prayer.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Forgive us, O God, for thinking we have you all figured out. We pretend we know who is in and who is out of your family, as if your care were not for all of us. We want people to be like us before we help them, and we welcome into our company only those who will benefit us. Forgive us. Reconcile us to those we have treated as worthless or unwanted; mold us into a community where all your children are accepted, included and loved.
--Adapted from a prayer of confession by Lavon Bayler, Fresh Winds of the Spirit (New York: The Pilgrim Press, 1986), 103.

POSTLUDE Liturgist: Marietta Padilla Acolytes: Myles Godfrey & Elias Messina Welcome to Fort Washington Collegiate Church; a place of diversity, hospitality and grace. We open our doors to everyone! We welcome all people regardless of race, culture, sexual orientation, social or economic status. As a church family we celebrate our diversity and our connection to God. We seek to follow Christ's example and exemplify the love of Christ; therefore, as a faith community, we value grace over judgment. Although we represent many cultures and points of view, our diversity does not drive us apart, but gives us the opportunity to be enriched by the gifts and leadership of all. Together, by word and deed, we proclaim the good news that there is new life in Christ.
