Instructions for creating Student Portal Account
Follow these steps to set up your STUDENT PORTAL account
1. Go to http://my.independence.edu/secure/Student/loginstu.aspx Select
Create a New Account
2. That will bring you to this screen. Enter your SSN, your First Name and
Last Name (use the exact name used when you enrolled in school).
Answer the two security questions in case you forget your password in the
future. Click Next.
3. Review the email address that is on file for you. If correct, click Yes.
If not, click No and visit the Campus Registrar who will help you create
your account.
4. Create your password. Be sure to record your username and password
and save it somewhere. Click Submit
5. Go to your email account and open the email from myportal (be sure to
check SPAM folder too). Click on the link within the email.
6. That will direct you here. Click OK.
7. Now you should be on the STUDENT PORTAL login page. Enter the
username and password you just created and click Login.
8. Proceed to the next set of instructions attached: STEP 2-Instructions for
Creating Canvas Account.
