Creative Arts The University of Hertfordshire’s School of Creative Arts is full of courses that help you to develop and innovate fresh ideas. Hong Kong has around 37,000 cultural and creative industry–related establishments 200,000 people employed Adds nearly $100 billion annually to Hong Kong’s GDP (5.1%) China’s entertainment and media industry forecast to grow at 10% per year for the next five years vs 5.1% (rest of the world) 2005–2013 growth increased at an annual rate of 9.2% (HK GDP in same period was 5.4%) Film, Video and Music was worth $3.5 billion. 15,000+ employed Software, computer games and interactive media worth $40.3 billion in 2013 (38% of CCI) employing 52,600 Rankings 3D Animation #1 in UK, Top 12 in the world (CG Student Award, 2015) Art and Design #14 (Guardian, 2016) Film Industry You could be working on live projects such as Harry Potter films and majority blockbuster films in the UK. For example 10 Model Design graduates and two students out of a team of 42 working on props for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Another 40 graduates and placement students working on miniatures for the chocolate factory and surrounding streets and houses. You could be like previous second year students working for Cutting Edge on the film Batman Begins at Elstree Studio, or on the Alien Vs Predator film props or on Troy. Animation/CGI Six Animation graduates were part of the Oscar–winning team for the blockbuster film Inception. We have excellent links with industry and many of our students have been actively involved in lengthy work placements on major movies such as X-men, Batman, Captain America, Fast and Furious 6, Thor: The Dark World, Edge of Tomorrow and Guardians of the Galaxy.
