Creative Writing
Lesson outcome – we’re going to create fictional characters and give them star potential
Lesson initial assessment activity – create a fictional character using these elements as cues
• Activity: Using creative thinking prompts, change three things about your character to get rid of cliché and make them even more interesting
• Assessment: All learners feedback to the group, all learners and tutor give each other ideas on
how to give the character that ‘wow’ factor
Reflection & Recording: Learners make brief notes on the feedback discussed, stating what they will
do next to improve their character even more and the main things learned from the lesson
The middle circle = nothing and the end circles = a lot. Make two markers on each line, one to show your knowledge at the beginning of the lesson and the other your knowledge at the end of the lesson
Where are you along the arrow? Tutor and learner
both assess learner
