USGBC: U.S. Green Building Council

Crestron is a national member and proud supporter of the U.S. Green BuildingCouncil. USGBC created the LEED rating system which is designed to guideand distinguish high performance commercial and industrial projects, including office buildings, schools, government buildings, commercial interiors,and existing buildings. Crestron is pleased to have been a part of CertifiedLEED Platinum, Gold, Silver, and several other projects throughout the world.

LEED Rating Systems: New Construction, Core and Shell,Schools, Commercial Interiors and Existing Buildings

Crestron has successfully completed numerous LEED projects in each of themajor categories available for certification. Crestron can aid the team in successfully obtaining credits for Sustainable Sites, Indoor EnvironmentalQuality, Energy and Atmosphere, Innovative Design, and Regional PriorityCredits.

ASHRAE: ASHRAE 90.1 Energy Code

ASHRAE 90.1 was created in 1975 in direct response to the Oil Crisis of 1973.It has evolved over the years, increased in stringency, and has been adoptedby many U.S. States. Crestron has dedicated professional engineers on staffwho are trained by the U.S. Department of Energy on the latest Energy Codes.Our engineers can assist the design team to ensure code compliance for themandatory Lighting Control requirements.

ASHRAE: ASHRAE 189.1 Energy Code

ASHRAE 189.1 is one of the newest Energy Codes to start to gain acceptance throughout the Commercial Building Industry. The new 189.1 isan exciting new code that combines the best of ASHRAE 90.1 and LEED intoone code which is easy to understand, implement and enforce. Standard189.1 incorporates several new topics such as Peak Load Shedding, EnergyConsumption Data and Collection, On-Site Renewable Energy Infrastructure,and stricter Watts/ft2 for Lighting. Crestron is proud to have existing productswith built-in features, such as Power Monitoring, that allow engineers to easilycomply with this new code.

IECC: International Energy Conservation CodeWhile some U.S. States have adopted ASHRAE 90.1 and 189.1, other stateshave adopted IECC. Once a completely separate code, the Lighting and Controlrequirements of IECC and ASHRAE Standards have become very similar overthe years regarding Mandatory Controls and Lighting Power Densities. Crestron has a team of professional engineers on staff who are trained by theDepartment of Energy on Code compliance methods for the IECC. Crestron iswell aware of the nuances between the various codes and can help the designteam navigate these codes to ensure compliance.

Unique State and City Codes: Title 24, Florida EnergyCode, Seattle Code & Many Others

Crestron, with regional offices all throughout North America and the world, isaware that particular states and cities have gone above and beyond the

energy requirements that the federal government has asked of them. Crestronis a proud supporter of these initiatives, understands the nuances of theseunique codes, and will continue to provide designers the added tools necessaryto meet these stringent codes.

AIA: American Institute of Architects

WHAT IS LEED®?LEED—Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design—is a rating system started in 1998 and administered bythe United States Green Building Council (USGBC). It provides an objective national standard for what constitutesa green building. It offers a set of scientifically based performance criteria for LEED project certification.

LEED for New Construction and Major Renovations (NC)

The LEED for New Construction rating system is designed to guide and distinguish high performancecommercial and institutional projects including office buildings, high-rise residential buildings, government buildings, recreational facilities, manufacturing plants and laboratories.

LEED for Schools: New Construction and Major Renovations (S)

The LEED for Schools rating system recognizes the unique nature of the design and constructionof K-12 schools. It addresses issues such as classroom acoustics, master planning, mold preventionand environmental site assessment. By addressing the uniqueness of school spaces and children’shealth issues, LEED for Schools provides a unique, comprehensive tool for schools that wish tobuild green, with measurable results.

LEED for Healthcare: New Construction & Major Renovations (HC)

The LEED for Healthcare, one of the newest rating systems, was developed to guide the design andconstruction of inpatient, outpatient, licensed long-term care facilities, medical offices, assistedliving facilities, medical education facilities, and research centers.

LEED for Core and Shell Development (CS)

Fusion

The Crestron Fusion platform is a scalable, redundant architecture which provides the basis on which to monitor and manage lighting, energy, and AV, while providing the tools for remote help desk, roomscheduling and asset tracking. Fusion expands upon the established Crestron RoomView® Server Edition(SE) platform with multiple front-end components: Fusion RVTM and Fusion EMTM. Fusion RV software,which provides AV, help desk, meeting scheduling and technology management, is the upgrade pathfrom RoomViewTM SE. The all-new Fusion EM provides energy management and tracking. Both front-end components coexist on the same server platform and share the same architecture.

Ampacity Metering

The newest advancements in the Crestron’s Green Light control line includes the GLPP and the GLPAC. Both products offer theability to have current transformers built directly into the product when it ships to allow for easy installation and metering of loads.Each zone of lighting has the ability to be independently metered which provides the ultimate granularity in understanding how the facility is utilizing energy.

Power and Power Factor Metering

For larger scale projects, the Crestron Green Light Power Meter Control Unit (GLS-EM-MCU) has been developed with the option for individual 20 and 50 Amp circuit breaker metering capability as well as 3-Phase metering up to 600A panel boards. The MCUhas the ability to individually meter ampacity and voltage, as well as the ability to calculate true power and power factor.

Wired or Wireless Data Collection

Data that is collected from current transformers has the option of being stored in the GLPP or GLPAC, downloaded into an excelspreadsheet, or transmitted wired or wirelessly back to the Crestron Fusion EMTM server where it can be collated and analyzed.Data that is collected from the Crestron Green Light Power Meter Control Unit will be sent wirelessly to the Fusion EMTM Server.

Energy Tracking

Fusion EMTM tracks all your lighting loads and provides a bar graph showing real-time and historical energy consumption. Click ona group or individual room to view real time and historical energy usage. View by day, week, month or year and compare numbersto the previous time period. Project future consumption by simply viewing future periods. Fusion EMTM estimates energy-use databased on lighting fixture information or takes advantage of real data collected by GLPP, GLPAC, GLS-EM-MCU or other energy metering devices.

Demand Response Control

Demand response settings call upon predetermined rules that are followed during peak consumption to cut down energy usage bya facility. Fusion EMTM makes it easy to set these rules. Quickly adjust heating and cooling set points, change the timeout settingfor an unoccupied room and edit maximum brightness of lighting levels. When the demand response mode is activated, FusionEMTM ensures that each room is overridden according to the demand response settings.

Meeting Automation

Fusion EMTM prepares rooms for meetings, so it's comfortable and ready to do business. Adjusting pre-meeting settings is simplefrom the intuitive GUI. Drop down menus provide temperature set points and lighting presets; simply make a selection then choosehow many minutes before the meeting you want it to take effect. If the meeting is cancelled, there's no need to tell the room. Onceoccupancy is undetected after the timeout period, then it returns to the vacated state.
