THE BACK STORY

• During September 2015, Devcos launched Crop, a specific range of naturally derived skincare and cosmetic products.

Gush had the opportunity to bring to life the Crop temporary shelf display. With the success of that unit, we were briefed to do the freestanding unit (FSU) which was displayed in Coles Australia wide from September to October 2015.

 • The objective of the FSU was for it to be an extension of the shelf

display.

It was to be designed with the following characteristics: easy-to-assemble, durable, impactful and with a small footstep.

CROP LAUNCH

OBJECTIVE

Gush Creative has been working closely with Devcos International, having helped design and produce a number of POS displays for their Savvy and Models Prefer brands in Priceline.

To achieve a smaller footprint, Crop FSU featured a thinner build than your standard POS unit.

However, it led to a few challenges. Cardboard in nature is lightweight, yet, it had to remain durable while being able to support the weight of the products.

To achieve this, the cardboard display featured:

1. Additional support so trays did not tilt forward2. Matte PP laminate with double layer of B flute 3. Inner lining - It helped products stay upright

Matte PP laminate with double layer of B flute. 1. 2.

• Matte or gloss PP laminate finish is not offered in Australia so we did this through our China suppliers.

• This ensured durability and that print would not chip when folded.

• It gave the standee longevity, lasting 4 – 6 weeks.

With various solutions brought to the table, one concept in particular stood out. This concept was prototyped (image on left) and presented to the client.

GUSH’S SOLUTION• Originally, the client asked for

rounded edges which we incorporated. – However, the prototype

demonstrated that this exposed the inside of the cardboard, which the client did not want.

– As a solution, Enoch added an additional flap that could fold over for a nice finish. A before and after is shown in the image on the left.

• The client liked the solution and signed off.

• Next up, production to be commenced with our China suppliers.

• As Gush has an office in China, our project manager there visited the factories throughout the production process. They conducted quality control and checked cut, print and packaging.

• The FSU, were flat packed and air freighted, which helped meet deadlines and stayed cost effective.

• After arriving in Australia, Gush assembled the units ready for the client to pack their stock with the stand and then distributed to 110 Coles Australia wide.

• Once at Coles, staff simply took the display out of the packaging, loaded the stock into designated tray inserts and it was ready to go!

• Collaboration and communication was essential to the success of this project.
