Adventures in ShoppingGreater Miami and the Beaches is a destination made for shopping. An exciting mix of haute couture, retail markets, designer boutiques and bargain outlets test the stamina of even the most dedicated shopper. Adjacent to PortMiami is Bayside Marketplace, an open-air shopping and entertainment center. You can shop for colorful souvenirs here, dine at one of the restaurants including Hard Rock Miami, or take one of several sightseeing cruises that depart from Bayside on a regular schedule. Double-decker bus tours of the city also depart from Bayside.
Other shopping options close to the Port include Downtown Miami, with a Macy’s department store, assorted shops and numerous fi ne jewelry stores. Easily reachable from PortMiami by a 15-minute taxi ride or via the Metromover are Mary Brickell Village, an enclave of open-air shops and restaurants; and Brickell City Centre, a brand new luxury mixed-use development. On South Beach, you can choose from designer shopping along Collins and Washington avenues, Española Way, Ocean Drive or the historic and always bustling Lincoln Road promenade.

One Day in MiamiIf your schedule only allows for one day in Miami, don’t fret. You can enjoy a few highlights and still get the flavor of this wonderful, fun-filled city. The Art Deco Historic District in South Beach is a must-see. Stop by the Art Deco Welcome Center at 10th Street and Ocean Drive for information and self-guided walking tours. Jump on a double-decker bus tour from Bayside Marketplace for a chance to see Miami’s interesting neighborhoods like Little Havana, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables and South Beach. Grab lunch at an outdoor cafe or take a Miami food tour to sample ethnic specialties. Culture vultures can check out one of Miami’s many top-notch museums, such as nearby Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) and the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, or see what’s on the playbill at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. Many travelers visit Greater Miami and the Beaches on their way to other fabulous destinations around the Caribbean and beyond. Miami International Airport (MIA) provides easy access—it is seven miles from PortMiami/Downtown Miami and 10 miles from Miami Beach.

PORTMIAMI TUNNEL The Port’s tunnel directly links the U.S. Interstate Highway System with Port facilities, providing quicker and easier access for both cruise passengers and container traffic without a single traffic signal. There are no tolls and it’s free for all.
LUGGAGE STORAGE While luggage storage is not offered at PortMiami, there are ways to get your bags taken care of so you are free to explore the city. Ask your cruise ship concierge for a list of Miami tours and excursions. Tour buses are able to store your luggage while you enjoy a sightseeing tour of Miami and the Beaches by bus. PARKING Secured parking is currently provided at all cruise terminals for $22 per day. Short-term (daily) parking is also available for a flat rate of $8.
TAXI SERVICETaxicabs are available outside all cruise terminals. The fare between Miami International Airport and PortMiami is currently a flat rate of $27.
RENTAL CAR SHUTTLESSeveral car rental agencies are permitted to do business at the seaport and provide complimentary shuttle service to their remote locations off the port. We suggest you contact the car agencies directly for the most up-to-date information and schedules.
