Few capital cities can offer a complete alpine ski resort just minutes away from the city center. Great skiing, both down-hill and cross country, tobogganing, Nordic walking, horse sleigh rides, biathlon and hot chocolate in a lavvo are some of the activities offered in the forests around Oslo. A historic landmark in the Norwegian consciousness, Holmenkollen embodies more than a century of skiing tradition. Inside the actual ski jump is the Holmenkollen Ski Museum, the world’s oldest.

Nature and culture connect in Oslo. Combine winter sport with pulsating nightlife, world famous museums and attractions, great shopping and high-class cuisine. In 2013 we will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Edvard Munch with many exciting exhibitions and tours to choose from, or you can explore ultra- modern and world class architecture on Oslo’s new sea front and visit classic and modern design shops.

the gateway to the Fjords oF norway

Bergen is relatively small compared to other European cities, but it has all the more to offer those looking for new experiences.

Its diversity and many options make Bergen impossible to categorize. Here, history and strong traditions live side-by-side in vibrant cultural harmony. The legacy from the time of the Hanseatic League goes hand-in-hand with the city’s present-day status as a European City of Culture, and both these elements are clearly present in the city.

Bergen is unique, not least because of its fantastic location and world-famous surroundings. Seven magnificent mountains and beautiful fjords form the backdrop to an international, but at the same time distinctively local, atmosphere that makes an indelible impression on everyone who visits the city.
