Dream Big!WE have been very lucky in thismarket over recent years as CLIAMember Lines have continued tounveil exciting initiatives aroundvessel deployment.

Capacity increases that we have

experienced from many CLIAMember brands have continuedto be a major factor in our region’sgrowth.

Yesterday’s announcementby Royal Caribbean that we willbe seeing their ‘yet to be built’Ovation of the Seas was probablya shock to many, but for thosethat were paying attention at ourCruis3sixty conference the writingwas on the wall.

Numerous references were madearound the importance of future

deployments being dependentor complementary to the rapidchange that is being seen in Asia.

My money was on Quantum ofthe Seas being a real chance ofheading our way, so I was close!

I will leave all the sales hypeto Royal Caribbean but there issomething that does strike meas a very important fact in thisannouncement…

That is the economic impact thata new ship delivers from the twotypes of passengers that will becruising on Ovation of the Seas –both domestic and international.

OK – so that is obvious, butwhat is not so obvious is thepulling power of a new ship toexperienced cruisers and loyalbrand followers from all aroundthe world.

What we will see is manyinternational visitors making thejourney to cruise on the new shipfrom our ports, delivering a boonfor our local economies as theyspend twice as much on a dailybasis as domestic cruisers!

Also on the list are rocksuperstars BOSTON as well asthe legendary Heart, who wereinducted into the Rock & RollHall of Fame in 2013.
