Resizing Images Photoshop CS 5 The size of the image on the screen is different than in print. Paying careful attention to your image size will make sure that you don’t lose any image information. Screen Size: This is the pixel dimension of your monitor. Typical monitor sizes are 1024x768 or 680x480. This is how may pixels of your image you’ll be able to see on the screen. Your computer automatically resamples the screen view of the image depending on the zoom. Print Size: This is the actual physical dimension of the printed image. The quality and size of the image will depend on the total number of pixels available. In general, the higher the resolution (pixels per inch) the better quality the image. To ensure that you don’t have strange results, always resize your images through Image>Image Size, not in the print window. Make sure you are not resampling the image and uncheck the “resample image” box. Resampling will add pixels if you make the image larger or remove pixels to make the image smaller. Minimum print resolution of 240 pixel/inch
