A Message from your VP Gerald Dobyns
Happy Easter everyone. Here
we are in April already. The year is
going fast. Claudia and I celebrated
our first wedding anniversary last
month.
Due to the Coronavirus many
events have been cancelled, so stay
home and take care of yourself. Only
go out for necessities and stay safe.
Joan Hoffman’s name was
pulled for the attendance drawing of
$300. Joanie was not in attendance.
Sorry Joanie. When we return in May
or June the amount will be $325.
The 50/50 drawing of $96
was won by lucky Ray Guillen.
Congratulations Ray.
Our entertainer was to be
Andy Scott but he did not show. He
told me he was sorry but this phone
did not alert him in time. Tennessee
Williams was scheduled for April and
he will be asked to come back.
I don’t have much to add this
month, so everyone take care. We
will see you after we return.
Jerry

Come Celebrate the Cayucos Library’s 10th Birthday. The Cayucos Library is celebrating 10 years at the B Street location! Join us on Tuesday, April 21, from 10AM
until closing. Come see how we have grown and all that your library has to offer. Enjoy a piece of cake or a
cookie, and explore the “Little Library that Could!”
Some History - Getting to Where We Are Today
According to the Cayucos Breeze, edition February 1974, our “Temple of Knowledge” began in 1914 in the
home of Henry Minetti. As the years passed and our precious Cayucos Library grew, it moved to numerous
locations including: 146 N. Ocean Ave., 684 N. Ocean, the back of the Veterans Hall (now providing space for
our Cayucos Art Association), and 248 S. Ocean (previously Gerard’s TV Shop).
And 10 years ago the library moved to it’s current address at 310 “B” Street. This large space is located beside
Cayucos School’s lower field. In fact, it used to be the school’s Kindergarten and First Grade classrooms. Our
County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. James Brescia, attended Kindergarten here.
Hope to see many of you on April 21.
