College Mission and VisionBackground

The College of Science and Technology, formerly known as the Royal Bhutan Institute of Technology was shifted to the present campus from Dewathang in 2000. In 2001 the institute was upgraded to a degree awarding College. The College is located at Rinchending five hours drive from Thimphu and about ten miutes drive from Phunetsholing. is the only engineering college offering degree courses. It is located at Rinchending in Phuentsholing, five hours drive from Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan and Paro, the International airport. It is five kilometers away from the Indian Border town of Jaigoan in West Bengal. It is number one destination within country for Bhutan’s brightest students. The

college was established in 2001 and is funded by The Royal Government of Bhutan.

BE Civil Engineering: The programme to enable students to:

-formulate / prepare project proposals and plans

-design, analyse, prepare working drawings estimates of various

civil engineerin

structures-execute / supervise the construction of

various civil engineering projects with quality control measures

-carry out civil engineering related tests and investigation works.

-carry out survey for engineering works

-carry out feasibility studies for engineering projects

-prepare bid documents, specification of works and evaluate tenders.
