    POSITION TITLE: ENGINEER III MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL

    Position Summary: Performs mechanical/electrical-engineering projects involving theapplication of a comprehensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles andpractices in the operation and maintenance of CTA transit revenue vehicles, servicevehicles and various pieces of garage equipment.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation & Experience Requirements:

    Bachelors degree including coursework in Workers Compensation or a closely relatedfield or a combination of training and experience pertaining to this position. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and approximately 5+ yearsexperience in mechanical and /or electrical engineering. Must possess a valid Drivers License. Required computer skills on word processing, spreadsheet and technical engineering

    programs. Must possess knowledge of Auto Cad. Must possess/be able to obtain current Rail Safety Training certification. When Electrically Focused - Must have extensive experience in the design, repair andoperation of electric powered, rail transit vehicles.     POSITION TITLE: GENERAL MANAGER, RAIL OPERATIONS

    SALARY RANGE: $95,000 - $104,000

    Position Summary: Plans, manages and coordinates, through subordinate supervisorypersonnel, the delivery of rail transportation for assigned routes and the activities of thesections within the Rail Route Operations Department which include Transportation andAdministration. Administers Rail Route Operations programs and objectives to ensurethat a high quality of rail transportation and customer service is rendered to thecommunity. Ensures a safe working environment and safe rail transportation isprovided.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation & Experience Requirements: Bachelors degree in business administration ora combination of education and experience relating to the position. Five (5) years ofincreasingly responsible experience in transportation operations or a related field thatinclude three (3) years of supervisory or management level experience. Managerialskills necessary to plan, manage and coordinate the diverse transportation andmaintenance activities of Route Operations. Strong organizational and managementskills necessary to define develop and evaluate objectives, standards and performancelevels for route administration, vehicle operations, customer assistants and light vehiclemaintenance. Analytical skills necessary for the identification and address ofdepartmental problems, issues, concerns and potential solutions. Extensive

    experience in rail vehicle maintenance and/or rail operations including the supervisionof a large, diverse workforce. Must maintain current Rail Safety Training certification.     POSITION TITLE: WARRANTY TECHNICIAN

    SALARY RANGE: $40,600 - $57,000

    Position SummaryMonitors the Authority's bus/rail maintenance MMIS screens to insure vendorcontractual compliance related to premature failed components.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities Reviews bus/rail maintenance MMIS screens for warranty application on a daily basis. Works with CTA and vendor personnel to arrange for movement and repair of

    warranty vehicles and components. Contacts CTA field locations to validate need forwarranty service daily. Processes warranty claims and return of warranty units to themanufacturers. Inspects failed components to determine appropriate warrantyrouting. Sets up and maintains databases for bus/rail major components for warrantyapplications and reimbursement. Works with garages and vendors to ensure bus/rail

    and component warranty flows and reimbursement. Defends CTAs position regardingwarranty failures. Reviews all vendor contracts for warranty interpretation andapplication. Analyzes bus/rail defect information to determine if a warrantable claim. Performs other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation & Experience Requirements:

    Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Business Administration ora combination of education and experience relating to this position. Required to befamiliar with MMIS and Oracle systems. Must have good written and verbalcommunication skills.     revenue to Vault Operations. Performs collection duties at rail stations, off-site

    locations, City of Chicago festivals, sporting and other special events. Makesemergency collections from malfunctioning Automated Vending Machines and off-sitelocations in need of repair. Performs other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements: Required topossess a high school diploma, GED or a combination of education and experiencerelating to this position. Required to have a familiarity with CTA routes and locations,Automated Vending Machines, Turnstiles and Visitor Pass Machines equipment andrelated collection procedures. Required to possess a valid drivers license. Required

    to have effective written and verbal communication skills. Required to competent inarithmetical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Must have a knowledge of revenue collection related security precautions and
