Message from our CEO Welcome to the 2014 Capital Training Institute (CTI) Prospectus.

The last twelve months has seen amazing growth within our organisation, transitioning from a campus in Canberra with ten staff, to five campuses across Australia with over 100 staff.

Rebranding from Safety Training and Compliance to the Capital Training Institute in 2012 was a major step in raising the profile of our company. We now have 14 satellite campuses across the eastern seaboard which are managed by dedicated teams in each state office and supported by a Head Office based in Canberra.

The training delivered by CTI is competency based and provides participants with nationally recognised qualifications.

All courses have been accredited under the Standards for National VET Regulator Registered Training Organisations via a blended learning approach.

I am both excited and proud to be delivering a range of courses across a variety of industry sectors. CTI now delivers training across eight key industry sectors with a view to broaden our service delivery over the coming twelve months. We are continually looking to innovate and raise the standards within the education industry and this year are rolling out a series of online resources and electric booking/payment systems.

I am all extremely proud of the way we have evolved in recent years and I am excited about the next twelve months. We will continue to focus on our goal of continually improving the education standards and look forward to playing an integral role in up-skilling Australians.

Warm regards,

Matthew Sutherland Chief Executive Officer

About UsCapital Training Institute (CTI) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that was originally established in Canberra in June 2007. Formerly known as Safety Training & Compliance, the business eventually outgrew the name, offering a wide range of courses in a variety of different business sectors. The company undertook a significant re-brand at the start of 2012 as part of a broader strategic vision to expand into every capital city in each state and territory by 2015.

Today, CTI has two campuses in the ACT and one in NSW, VIC and QLD. The training delivered by CTI is competency based and provides participants with a nationally recognised qualification. All courses have been accredited under the standards for National VET Regulator Registered Training Organisation.

Accreditation

Registered Training OrganisationCapital Training Institute (CTI) is a Registered Training Organisation.

Registered Training Organisations (RTO) are providers of courses endorsed by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). RTO’s are also accredited to assess participants against each course’s criteria and, as a result, the qualifications they issue are nationally recognised.

ASQA ensures the quality of vocational education and training services throughout Australia, with agencies operating in every state and territory.

This means that CTI’s courses have been assessed by ASQA against the Standards for National VET Regulator Registered Training Organisations as meeting Australian Standards. That is, each course satisfies industry needs and has appropriate outcomes which meet or exceed the standards of the framework.

All accredited courses, such as CTI’s, are entered into the www.training.gov.au database. RTO’s are also listed in the database as accredited providers of each course.

Australian Capital TerritoryEstablished in July 2007, CTI’s flagship office has quickly become the largest provider of existing worker training for the building and construction industry in the ACT. CTI currently works with over 1000 small/medium sized enterprises based in the ACT and surrounding region and delivers over 1,000 training sessions per year throughout the territory.

Canberra is a unique and challenging training market with differing needs to those of the other capital cities. With the recent change in government, Canberra is starting to see positive signs linked to the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector and specifically training opportunities linked to the public sector in general.

CTI recently launched a second campus in the hub of Canberra’s Southside (Woden), opening CTI up to several government agencies, a large range of private sector businesses and a greater geographical footprint within Canberra. CTI’s second campus has enabled the business to expand on its current operations and deliver a new suit of courses linked to a new range of training sectors – Business Services (Administration, Management, Business and Project Management), Property Services (Security and Real Estate), Health and Fitness, Hospitality and Information Technology. The new Campus boasts several fully equipped training rooms including a Computer Laboratory which provides CTI with the ability to deliver a suit of courses online or via a blended learning approach.

CTI is proud to be a part of the Canberra community and is the Official Training Partner of the ACT Brumbies. In addition, CTI is a proud member of the ACT and Region Chamber of Commerce & Industry and also supports several non-for-profit community groups through its Community Rebate Scheme.

New South WalesEstablished in June 2012, CTI’s Sydney Campus has experienced significant growth since first entering the Sydney training market, with over 1,000 students completing a number of our formal qualifications within the first 18 months of operation.

CTI’s Sydney Campus which is based in Botany has rapidly transformed into a State Office which manages the delivery of training in nine satellite campuses located across the state. These locations include the Sydney CBD, Manly, Avoca Beach (Central Coast), The Entrance, Newcastle, Penrith, Wollongong, Orange and Goulburn.

CTI offers a variety of nationally recognised qualifications and short courses which are relevant to most industry sectors. A large proportion of its current students are participating in Building and Construction training, but the team is anticipating a significant influx in training linked to seven other training sectors from 2014 onwards.

CTI is proud to be a part of several metropolitan and regional communities, which span from as far north as Newcastle to as far west as Orange. CTI is the Official Membership Partner of the South Sydney Rabbitohs and aligns itself closely with Souths charitable programmes. In addition, CTI also supports several not-for-profit community groups through its Community Rebate Scheme in NSW.

VictoriaThe most recent addition to our list of permanent facilities, CTI’s Victorian State Office is already establishing itself in the marketplace. Replicating the successful business models already used in other states, CTI has seen huge success since opening its doors in early 2013.

What started as one permanent campus in Preston teaching only Building and Construction qualifications has rapidly evolved into two additional satellite campuses in both Werribee and Cranbourne. In conjunction with this physical expansion, CTI has increased its qualification offerings to reflect its other campuses across the country. Now offering training and qualifications in Work Health and Safety, Training and Education, Hospitality, and Business Services, CTI continues its rapid growth in the Victorian State.

2014 will also see the introduction of further training and qualifications in Property Services (Security and Real Estate), Information Technology, and Health and Fitness. With the ability to offer training through a blended-learning approach, the addition of these new qualifications offers the prospective student a variety of options to suit themselves, their organisation and its training needs.

CTI prides itself in offering flexible training solutions, working with either the individual or organisations to get the best possible result, helping to achieve our vision of being the benchmark of Australia’s privately owned Registered Training Organisations.

QueenslandOpened for business in March 2013, CTI’s Queensland State Office is located in Brisbane (Kedron). The primary objective prior to class commencement was to replicate the already proven NSW and ACT business models. With the support from an experienced Head Office and the focus and commitment from CTI’s local Brisbane team, classrooms are now full and our trainers are delivering high quality Nationally Recognised Training. With a consistent approach of providing high quality, dynamic and relevant training to various industry sectors, CTI has built a very strong foundation that is allowing the Institute to rapidly grow into numerous capital cities and regional centres. New satellite campuses in the Sunshine Coast, Mackay, and the Gold Coast have seen CTI offer our vast array of qualifications to students throughout the state of Queensland.

It is with much excitement and anticipation that CTI looks forward to following our students’ careers as they drive their own professional growth through ongoing training and development. CTI proudly provides students with a learning environment that nurtures student development, their continued career progression, and ultimately their success as valued members of the ever expanding CTI community.

unity CTI CommunityAt Capital Training Institute, one of our key objectives is to “develop long-term partnerships with suitable organisations”. We believe these partnerships need to exist on many levels, however most importantly, we see the need to integrate with our local community, building relationships that are mutually beneficial.

CTI helps to up-skill individuals and the community as a whole, providing the opportunity for professional development with a Nationally Recognised Qualification.

CTI StudentsCTI recognises the important link with both our past, present, and future students.

For those yet to study with us, it is our hope to highlight the benefits we can provide you with should you want to: kick-start your career, help with a career change, or simply formalise your work experience.

For our current students, we understand the constraints of everyday life and how it can impact on your studies. This is why we pride ourselves on our flexible delivery and blended learning approach, providing our training in a range of ways to cater for school leavers and those ‘mature age’ students needing to continue working while studying.

Finally, our past students are our ‘voice’ in the community; highlighting the effect CTI has had on their professional careers. It is you that tells the greater community who we are and how we can help you. No matter the stage of your “CTI lifecycle”, we can continue to help you with your professional career.

For more information contact us today on 1300 CTI EDU.

Not for Profit OrganisationsCTI has always been committed to engaging its local community. To assist in this process, 2014 will see the introduction of our “Community Rebate Scheme”. The Community Rebate gives not-for-profit organisations the opportunity to directly benefit from our success, by receiving a financial rebate for any affiliated individuals who undertake qualifications with CTI.

Contact us today to discuss how CTI can help your not-for-profit organisation through our “Community Rebate Scheme”.

Corporate Partnerships

ACT Brumbies Official Training Partner

2013 was the first of a three year partnership between the Brumbies and their Official Training Partner, the Capital Training Institute. It was a fantastic season for the Brumbies, culminating in a grand final appearance. This success was something that Capital Training Institute was truly proud to be a part of.

CTI was also proud to see one of our own employees and a Brumbies player, Scott Fardy, further his amazing career with selection in the Wallabies. Scott has been a fantastic addition to the CTI family, and we can’t wait to see him further succeed in his professional rugby career.

2014 will pose some interesting challenges for the Brumbies, with new coaching staff, new CEO, and a new training facility. CTI look forward to continuing this successful relationship in years to come.

“The University of Canberra Brumbies joined forces with Capital Training Institute (CTI) in 2013, coming on board as the official Training Provider.

2013 was an outstanding season both on and off-field with CTI playing its part by supporting a number of our players and members through the growing number of courses on offer.

We see the education of our players and staff plus the opportunity to offer our membership base access to the courses offered by CTI as an integral part of our business. With CTI’s support of our players, staff and members we look forward to delivering many more years of success both on and off the field in partnership with CTI.”

Corporate Partnerships

South Sydney Rabbitohs Official Membership Partner

Capital Training Institute first committed to sponsorship at the commencement of the 2013 NRL Rugby League season.

After what has been a successful partnership with CTI ACT and The Brumbies, CTI identified a great opportunity to associate itself with a well renowned brand in the Rabbitohs.

We also saw some great synergies with what the Rabbitohs and CTI are both trying to achieve with their respective organisations, and the chance to partner up with such a great club as their Official Membership Partner, was too good to refuse.

The Rabbitohs have one of the strongest membership bases in Australian sport, and CTI are proud to have a close association with them. We look forward to a strong partnership for 2014 and beyond.

“CTI began their association with the Rabbitohs in 2013, coming on board as our official Membership Sponsor.

We have seen continued success on and off the field in recent years, with CTI playing its part by supporting our members and the club.

We see our members as one of the most important aspects of our business, as they define who we are and what we stand for. CTI’s support of our members and the club itself will mean many more years of success both on and off the field.

We look forward to a great partnership with CTI in years to come.”
