PROCESS OF MAKING GAME BOARD (23/8)

Before we move on into the process of making the game board, all the group members stayed back for discussion. We discussed on the compilation of game board’s idea, packaging, video shooting and poster design.

1

We measured and drew out the dimension line of the equilateral triangles which is 54cm, 45cm, 36cm, 27cm, 18cm and 9cm. After that we used the electric saw to cut the board into the shape of

We used both rough and fine surface of sand papers to smoothen the edge of the board.

3

After the cutting process was done, we glued the board based on the finalized design. The clamping time took around 5-10 minutes to be completely cured.

After we had glued all the wood pieces together, the outlook of the board is shown in the figure. There are 6 layers in total, and the whole process took us about one and a half hours to finish.

We colored the game board with different colors which are blue, purple, brown, gray, black, green and maroon. Each of the color has their own respective meaning.

To make the castle, we stick the surface of the toilet roll with tissue paper. After 30 minutes of drying process, we then applied the desired color to decorate and beautify the view of model.

After we colored the game board and castle, we applied a thin layer of clear spray to create a shiny-looking surface, following with another layer of clear spray after the first layer had dried out.

After 10 minutes, the board looked shiny and clean which can increase the marketing value of the product and satisfaction of buyers.

We then drilled two holes on top of the first board and attached the castle with the aid of the chopstick, functioning as a linkage.

PROCESS OF MAKING GAME CARD (5/8)

We had our second discussion for packaging issue. We discussed on the packaging design, type of materials needed and the cost.

1

After we measured the dimensional line of the packaging, we used the electric saw to cut the wood into pieces, and then nailed the pieces together.

The edges of the packaging were then smoothening with a piece of sandpaper and the final outlook of the packaging is as shown in the figure.

We designed the game card by using Photoshop and printed out the templates.

We ensured that all the game cards were cut and arranged properly.

We then cut out the card templates carefully by using a sharp penknife.

PROCESS OF MAKING INSTRUCTION MANUAL (3/8)

The design of the manual instruction was an idea originally from the treasure map, and yet the manual instruction was all handwritten.

To produce the sense of a century-old book, we used coffee to color the booklet’s background as to show a yellowish-looking stain.

PROCESS OF MAKING GAME PIECES (4/8)

We then drew out the instruction and pasted images to show a clearer picture to the players.

We used wooden clips as the main material to make the game pieces. We drew facial expressions onto the clips as to make it more interactive.

After finishing the design, we applied different water colors which were brown, purple, orange, green, blue, yellow and red as to indicate the characteristic of the game pieces.

PROCESS OF MAKING POSTER (5/8)

The game pieces were then arranged in a row by attaching them on a chopstick.

3

We drew the draft of the poster on an A2 cartridge paper, then applying with different shades of green as to create sense of adventurous and woods.

PROCESS OF MAKING VIDEO SHOOTING (31/7)

The poster’s final outlook is as shown in the image above. It clearly portrays the storyline of the game based on our chosen theme- adventurous.

PROCESS OF MAKING GAME BOOTH (5/8)

We chose Bukit Gasing, Petaling Jaya as the destination for our video shooting. It took us 20 minutes to travel from Taylors to there via car.

We discussed about the plot of the story and the scene that we were going to capture.

We captured the video with different scenes so that we can have more capability for video editing. We also dressed up like a bandit as to fit the flow of story.

To create a 3D game booth, we decided to build a castle with cardboards. We used spray paints to decorate the cardboards in order to make it look more realistic and attractive.

We then added roof of the castle and arch, making it stand out like a 3D castle. It also served as photo booth whereas people can take selfie with the castle.

We also cut out the footprints images from the template and sticked it onto the ground as to attract people to our game booth.
