Hola Amiga!

How are you and your family? The last weeks weren‘t very spektacular, so I don‘t know what I can write. But now I had my summer holidays and some other little events. There were so much impressions so I‘ll tell you all in diary-style

Lot of work to do! Last day at work and many things to organize for the time I‘m in holidays. Really big stress! At home I have to pack my bags for holidays – stress again! At last all things are packed and organized – but surely I forgot someting…

23.06.2006

Flight from Munich to Varadero at 10:30 am. This means we have to stand up at 6 o‘clock, finish my packing, dress me and have to be at my friends house at 7 to go together to the airport. Check-In at 9:30 finally finsihed and waiting for dispatchure. Have 10 hours to fly – and I forgot my headphones! The headphones they sell are very expensive so I have to read because I can‘t sleep in anything is moving under my ass!

Arriving in Varadero, Cuba at 17:00 pm. Nice landing, nice weather! Temperature is at 33°C and sun is shining. The transfer to our hotel and check-in without any problems. Rest of the Day relaxing on the pool and on the sand-beach. Watching the dawn at the beach. After the meal some coctails at the bar and then preparing for the trip next day.

• After breakfast was some time to relax at the pool. Then we go to lunch and started our tour through cuba.

By coach we traveled to Havanna and our guide show us the first some attractions of the city. The old-style buildings built between 1900 and 1970 have a great architecture but there wasn‘t any repairing for a long time and so they look very bad. Between this very old and bad looking are very nice, renovated houses because Fidel is going to repair the most important buildings. With the old cars from the 50‘s till 80‘s you think you still be in this time at the moment. Especially in Havanna the air is very sticky because of this old cars whose take a lot of petrol for driving.

Then we went to our hotel for meal. A nice hotel with pool direct at the sea. At the morning next day we went to the city again to see some more attractions. At the afternoon we visited the museum of ron Havana Club. It was really nice and interesting. Our guide showed us how ron is made.

Next day we went to the next Station on our tour: Cienfuegos. On the way to the town we were at a crocodile-farm. But I don‘t like it because the animals have only a small area to live and they were too mutch for their „cells“. Cienfuegos have the same nice building-style like Havana (and the other cities). This colony-style looks pretty good but the cubanos don‘t do anything on their buildings so all the things look very damaged.

Trip to a waterfall

Before we arrived in Cienfuegos we take a little trip to a waterfall a hour from the town. This was one of the best looking places we were in cuba! You have such a nice view, but look yourself:

It looks like if a factory give up the buildings of it still stand there till it‘s break down by itself. Anyway – it finally looks very special if you travel through cuba with ist damaged buildings, cowboys, tabac-plants and much wildlife.

But now back to Cienfuegos: It‘s a really nice town in a very big bay in the south of cuba.

We went to the town called Trinidad. This really old town with streets only filled with big stones have the most museums of cuba and a big market (for tourists). There‘s also the badest hotel I ever were! It smells bad, there are half-dead dogs walking around and the most awful food. For breakfast we decided to drink only a coce ;-) The rooms are full with any kind of animals!

Next day we went back to Varadero in our all-inclusive-hotel for bathing-holidays and to relax after the tour through cuba. But nothing to do! Only lying on the beach and swimming is very boring…

And now we‘re glad to sit in the airplane and arrive soon at home by my family and all my friends.

Oh, yes, I forgot the weather: Always between 30 and 36°C in shadow and very much air humidity. I think that‘s enough for now. I hope I don‘t bored you with this long presentation! Hope to hear from you very soon. Greets to you and your family!
