2 Safety instructions

WARNING

Refrain from any unsafe working practices.

Observe the applicable rules for health and safety at work.

No fire, naked flames or smoking.

Packaging and containers must meet the transport regulations.

NOTE

If flammable substances are to be stored, the user must prepare an explosion

protection document, to set out the measures to be taken to prevent hazards in

accordance with ATEX guidelines.

When storing flammable substances a safety distance of at least 5m must be

observed to nearby buildings etc. (see TRGS 510).

CAUTION

There is a risk of crushing when closing the doors and the cover.

Keep the doors closed; otherwise there is a risk of crushing if the wind blows the

doors shut.

NOTE

If the sump is damaged, the stored goods must immediately be taken out and the

depot removed from service until the damage is repaired.

Only store materials to which the sump is resistant.

3 Transport, placement and installation

3.1 Transport

Transport the depot only when empty.

The depot is accessible with a forklift or pallet truck from the front and the rear.

3.2 Set-up conditions

The depot must only be assembled on even, level, paved surfaces. Foundations are not required. The

depot is suitable for installation outdoors or indoors. The recommendations of TRGS 510, 4.2 should be

observed when setting up the depot. The depot must be protected from damage by vehicles using

appropriate means (e.g. impact protection barriers).

3.3 Installation and placement

The Cubos hazardous materials depot should be set up at the desired location, ensuring it is horizontal.

When correctly installed, the double wing doors should be able to be easily opened and then closed

and locked.

NOTE

The depot must be anchored to the floor.

NOTE

If flammable fluids are to be stored, the depot must not be located in direct sunlight.

3.3.1 Floor anchoring

The depot comes with a mounting kit consisting of four heavy duty M10 anchors.

To help with positioning the anchors, in each corner of the base there is an ø17mm hole (see Fig. 3.3.2-

1).

1. Drill the holes (ø15mm, 95mm deep) for the ground anchors supplied.

2. Clean the holes.

3. Fit the ground anchors in the holes.

4. Tighten the screws to a torque of Tinst = 50 Nm.

The depot is supplied ready for equipotential bonding to be fitted. At the bottom at the side there is a

threaded bolt with nuts and washers. Connect the earthing cable here (see Fig.3.3-1). Check that

dissipation is effective.

NOTE

The equipotential bonding connection to earth must be carried out by the customer

before commissioning. Use only suitable materials.

The operator must check that dissipation is effective.

The operator is responsible for ensuring lightning protection.

Check the sump regularly for leaked fluids, and check underneath too.

Safely dispose of leaked fluids immediately.

Lubricate the lock with commercially available grease.

Check and if necessary tighten the floor mounting bolts.

Check the operation of the gas strut: When lifting the cover the gas strut should act

as a support and then hold the cover in the open position by itself. The gas strut

should not tilt or stick.

If a new gas strut is fitted ensure correction positioning.

Only use manufacturer's original replacement parts.

8 Disposal

NOTE

Before disposal clean the sump thoroughly to remove any hazardous material

residue.

The Cubos hazardous materials depot is mainly constructed from metal parts. After decommissioning,
