March 3, 2013 Night to Honor Israel Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX

The 4th annual Night to Honor Israel in Lubbock, Texas was blessed to have internationally renowned historian David Barton as the keynote speaker. Mr. Barton highlighted the

profound relationships that our Founding Fathers had with the Jewish community during the early days of the Revolution and the Republic. He showed how our nation was divinely blessed because of the godly attitudes of our leaders toward the Jews. Of course, the message was that if we continue to stray from those founding principles, we will no longer merit the protection and blessing of God. The untiring perseverance of Helen Burke and Pastor and Mrs. Jackie White and their NTHI volunteer committee must be noted. Anyone involved in putting on a NTHI realizes the time, sacrifice and multiple hours and days required to do a top-notch job. Lubbock has done it over and over again with different formats and locations and has never missed a beat. God is faithful and he will bless the city, people and churches of Lubbock as they have honored Him.

March 3, 2013 Daughters for Zion Luncheon Mather, CA

I imagine that it must be a wonderful opportunity to travel the USA and speak up on behalf of the Jewish people and the state of Israel. CUFI at Mississippi College is growing and we hope to make the best impact on campus possible! There truly is great potential in just one activist won to advocating for Israel. I also look forward to seeing you and all the other lovers of Israel at the CUFI Washington DC Summit coming up in July!”

event at the wonderful church they started in 1990. Col. John Somerville examined what role God plays in the selection of US presidents and their relationship to Abraham’s descendants. A great example was President Lyndon B. Johnson; who was credited with rescuing almost 500 Jews out of Hitler’s grasp during the late 1930s when he was a junior Congressman. His entire career exemplified how God blesses those who bless the Jewish people. For more details about this amazing story; attend the next Standing With Israel event in the nearest Texas city.

March 27, 2013 Standing With Israel Event New Haven, CT

This was one of the most educational and informative CUFI Standing With Israel meetings to date for Pastor Mike Stevens. Attendees learned of several compelling reasons the

church should stand with Israel—namely in the African-American church. a loving hospitality to all that attended from throughout the state of Connecticut. March 28, 2013 Standing With Israel Event Savannah, GA

Most were under the impression that the church did not want to become involved in speaking out on what appeared to be political issues and much discussion was forthcoming and supportive of Americans speaking out of their core beliefs and faith.

This event was hosted by Pastor Jack Pidgeon and arranged by CUFI Congregational Representatives Mr. and Mrs. David Opie. Col. John Somerville spoke on Genesis 12:3 about

how God promises to bless those who bless the Jews. As an example of how and why God puts leaders in place and why He removes others, President Lyndon Johnson’s life was used to illustrate these spiritual principles. Pres. Johnson helped his Jewish friend Jim Novy rescue 42 Jews out of Poland in 1938; this partnership expanded and eventually resulted in the rescue of nearly 500 Jews out of Europe who were smuggled into Texas and hidden by Johnson and Novy. This little known connection between LBJ and the Jewish Novy brothers was verified by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gold who attended the meeting. Somerville and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gold of Houston.

April 25, 2013 Night To Honor Israel Atlanta, GA

With people lined up outside the First Baptist Church 3 hours before the doors opened we knew this was going to be an extraordinary event. At the conclusion of the opening psalm

sung by the massive 300+ member FBA Choir, Pastor Hagee stood up, faced them and proclaimed, “This choir is enough to make a Baptist shout!!” Words cannot express the electricity that filled the room for the next 90 minutes of celebration. The evening ended with Dr. Stanley returning to the stage and announcing, “I am 80 years old and have been preaching for most of them. What we just heard tonight is one of the most powerful messages I have ever heard in my life.” CUFI’s work continues to spread across the nation.

kneeling and contemplating the cross. Pastors Jack Bettencourt and Rick Holaday graciously opened their morning service to celebrate Christians United For Israel Sunday. Pastor David Simmons of Eldorado Cowboy Church in Weatherford, Texas is the Cowboy Church Coordinator for CUFI. If you haven’t been to one of the many hundreds of Cowboy Churches which have sprouted all across the US, you’re in for a real treat. Michael Stevens. Pastor Will Hardy, a recent Israel Familiarization Trip Pastor (Dec. 2012) and his staff did an outstanding job hosting with warmth, excellence and sincere hospitality. Over 1500 attendees learned of several compelling reasons the church should stand with Israel. All were invited to the CUFI Washington Summit in July as well as encouraged to take their Oregon state leadership to the next level.

April 28, 2013 Night to Honor Israel Event Los Angeles, CA

The second annual Los Angeles Night To Honor Israel raised the bar on numerous levels. Pastor John Hagee, David Brog and Malcolm Hoenlein brought compelling messages that

challenged the audience to redouble their advocacy efforts for Israel. The historic theatre, once home to the Academy Awards, proved an ideal platform for Israeli music and stage play performer DuDu Fisher, and multiple Grammy Award winner and top Christian Gospel artist Israel Houghton. event possible. April 30, 2013 Standing With Israel Event Caldwell, ID

The response and support CUFI realized in the Greater Boise Idaho area is testimony to the impact that CUFI familiarization trips to Israel have on leaders of every level. Though Pastor Dave

McGarrah had long been a champion of CUFI and had previously served as City Director for Salem OR, his new role as Senior Pastor of Deer Flat Church in Caldwell Idaho did not afford him with extra time or resources to focus on CUFI’s objectives. That changed after he visited Israel with thirty-two other CUFI pastors from the western United States He now serves as CUFI State Director for Idaho and has one of the most informed congregations one can find regarding Israel. This event featured guest speaker Sgt. Benjamin Anthony of the IDF Reserves, who Pastor McGarrah originally met at a special briefing in Jerusalem on the CUFI trip to Israel.

As a Bible believing Christian, I accept the Holy Scriptures to be the infallible Word of God. This should not be a controversial statement, but sadly in this day and age it has become so.

Some of our fellow Christians doubt the truth of the Word, espe-cially the certainty of God’s eternal promises to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Consequently, when God mandates us to stand as watchman on the walls of Jerusalem and to bless Israel in action, word and deed, many no longer believe these commands to be true.

Anti-Israel forces have aggressively seized on this biblical distor-tion to drive a wedge between the Church and Israel. And they are making progress! Anti-Israel groups have made significant inroads into our churches, conventions, and publications with this con-temptible propaganda. Allow me to cite a few examples:

• The National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA has distributed over 45 million copies of a brochure titled “Why We Should Be Concerned About Christian Zionism” to 100,000 churches across the country.

• The Church of Scotland recently issued a report divorcing the Jewish people from the land of Israel. The report contended that “promises about the land of Israel were never intended to be taken literally, or as applying to a defined geographical territory.”

• Over the last 9 years, seven of the largest mainline Protestant denominations, including the Presbyterian Church USA, the United Methodist Church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church, have held votes on divesting funds from Israel.

• Having enjoyed such success with the mainline denomi-nations, anti-Israel organizations such as Sabeel and the Bethlehem Bible College are now targeting evangelical churches. As a result, the list of evangelical critics of Israel is growing quickly.

• When CUFI on Campus attempted to hold an event at one of the most prestigious Christian colleges in the United States, Wheaton College, they faced enormous pressure from faculty and students to move the event off campus.

As pro-Israel Christians, it is important now more than ever to stand up and speak up for Israel. We must combat these decep-tions with the truth in God’s Word; for Zion’s Sake, we should not and shall not remain silent!

It is Christians United for Israel’s responsibility, as the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States, to push back against these anti-Israel propagandists.

We must, in one clear voice, demonstrate that Bible-believing Christians stand with Israel and the Jewish people. We must educate other Christians that if they believe the Bible they should support Israel especially in these critical times.

CUFI’s “Because I am Christian, I Stand with Israel” campaign is an excellent opportunity for us to make a public statement about our faith as Christians and our commitment to the State of Israel. I ask you to proudly display a “Because I am Christian, I Stand with Israel” car magnet on your vehicle so the thousands of people you pass know that Bible believing Christians stand with Israel. I ask you to obtain other “Because I am Christian, I stand with Israel” items CUFI has made available so that you can proudly proclaim your support of Israel to all you meet.

I also hope that you prayerfully consider joining Governor Mike Huckabee, Glenn Beck, Senator Ted Cruz and me along with thousands of other pro-Israel Christians at the 8th Annual Christians United for Israel Washington DC Summit, July 21-24, 2013.

May the Lord’s blessings be with you and yours as you bless the Jewish people.
