This design of the national flag is this way because it was a result of competition and it flew for the first time on independence day of October 10,1970

The Coat Of Arms consists of images of two Fijian warriors on either side of the shield, a takia (Fijian canoe) at the top of the shield and the motto “Rerevaka na Kalou ka doka na Tui” below the shield. The Fijian words mean “Fear god and honor the queen”.

Fiji’s history consists of the use of cannibalism, Cannibalism was an extremely important institution in pre-Christian Fiji, practiced as early as several hundred years before the birth of Christ.

“According to Fijian legend, the great chief Lutunasobasoba led his people across the seas to the new land of Fiji. Most authorities agree that people came into the Pacific from Southeast Asia via the Malay Peninsula. Here the Melanesians and the Polynesians mixed to create a highly developed society long before the arrival of the Europeans.”

The industry has suffered since the late 1990s because of low world prices, drought, and inefficiencies, and the government is seeking to diversify the island's commercial agriculture.

Abel Tasman was the first explorer to reach Fiji, in 1643

The Coral Coast in Fiji is over 50 miles long.

The first Polynesians to reach the Fiji Islands was is 1500 B.C. or over 3500 years ago.

The very white sand beaches are the result from the natural grinding

down of dead coral.

Things I liked about this country is that no matter where your from if you go to a village or anywhere they will great you and treat you like there own.Something I didn’t like about this village is that they used to have cannibalism.

The economy is growing vastly.

“During the Chalcolithic period (c. 4500-3200 BCE), copper was smelted for the first time. It was put to use in making axes, arrowheads and hooks, although flint tools also continued to be used for a long time. Chalcolithic man relied less on hunting than in Neolithic times, instead focusing more on sheep and goat-breeding and the cultivation of wheat, barley, dates, olives and lentils. In the desert areas the lifestyle was probably very similar to that of modern Bedouins.”
